"Living here coming up on two years now, still having to deal with the noises of the bowling alley being heard from inside my apartment as well as people slamming weights from the gym. The main elevator constantly being locked even after hours because whoever is supposed to unlock it before staff goes home forgets or is too lazy. Being promised a specific monthly rate by one of the leasing managers then out of nowhere they aren’t working at the building and don’t have any way of contacting them so the rate offered isn’t given and rent goes up. Surprise surprise. The cleaning around the complex could be 100% better as well."
"Overall a great place to live! They have great amenities. The bowling alley and game area are so fun! Apartments are nice and updated. Luxury style. The security guard is great! I love how he walks the grounds and does what he can to keep our building safe and secure."
"Not recommended! I wanted to take a moment to share my honest experience living at Modera San Diego for the past 15 months. While I typically don't write reviews, I feel compelled to provide insights for those considering moving to Modera San Diego. One of the significant challenges during my stay was the homeless issue in the vicinity, which I found to be the worst in San Diego. The street next to Modera functions as a shelter, resulting in the presence of tons of homeless tents around the building. This situation not only impacts the overall atmosphere but also leads to persistent unpleasant smells in the surroundings. Upon moving out, I encountered a significant concern with the handling of my deposit. Despite leaving the apartment in the same pristine condition as the day I moved in, I was charged $500 for what I consider to be unjustified expenses, including painting and cleaning. It appears that the management tends to deduct the whole amount of the deposit regardless of the tenant's efforts to maintain the apartment meticulously. I do not recommend Modera San Diego as a living option! The staff are so friendly and nice people. They have done their best to make Modera a better place to live. Despite the friendly and helpful nature of the staff, it appears that addressing these issues may require a coordinated effort at the managerial level."
"My boyfriend and I have lived at Modera San Diego for 4 months and we couldn't be happier! We attribute it all to the amazing staff (Lauryn, Adrian, and Pedro) and the cool activities here in the apartment. Lauryn showed us multiple apartments, listened patiently to our questions, and helped us pick the perfect apartment for our needs. She is always working in the lobby and fast to greet anybody who walks into the apartment with a friendly smile as well as a fun conversation. A true gem! Adrian is the Security Guard who is seen walking around the apartment making sure everyone is safe. My boyfriend and I have lived in multiple apartments throughout downtown (Little Italy and Seaport) and we have never felt safer in our apartment. Pedro is part of the cleaning staff and is always seen making sure everything is tidy. All my friends and family who come visit refer to this apartment as a Vegas hotel. You really don't need to leave the apartment building. There's ping pong, hot tub/pool, working grills, a small market, pool table, bowling, and wood pizza oven. Modera is not only fun, but it's also incredibly peaceful. There's amazing restaurants nearby, less than 15 mins walk into Gaslmap, and a 3 min walk to the trolley. I promise you will not regret moving into Modera."
"Before viewing this building I researched the reviews because when looking for a home you can really get a good feel on things by others personal reviews. I saw multiple bad ones about the leasing agents however, I got lucky meeting Lauryn first as she was the one who did my tour. She is the front desks saving grace. She made me feel so welcome and was so sweet, friendly and knowledgeable on everything. She let me take my time and showed me many units so I can make sure I picked the correct one. I truly think if you’re looking to move here or want a tour, you should ask for her and you’ll get the experience you’re expecting when living in a home like this. She made the process so quick and simple for me and I’m truly thankful for that. I encountered two phone calls with other girls that weren’t so lovely however upon moving in they are all pretty great and one even offered to help me with getting some large heavy packages onto a dolly from the package room. As long as you have common courtesy I don’t think any issues are worth not living here! Feels like a vacation each day!"
