"First place me and my gf moved out too. It was a great apartment complex, the people who ran the place were friendly and great at getting things fixed if anything ever broke down. People who lived there were also friendly."
"I lived here for almost a year with my fiance, my dog and my cat. Our neighbors were amazing, we had no problems with them the entire time. In fact, we became friends! The complex is quiet and the tenants are all really respectful. The pool is a little small but because of COVID we never really used it. The apartment managers are amazing. They're quick to fix problems, easy to talk to, and willing to listen to you. The maintenance guys are all really nice and do great work! This is overall a really great apartment complex, especially with the lower price + no cat or dog rent! However, I had to bring the rating down for the area. This was my first apartment, and it was great until lockdown started. The trail behind the apartment is great for a fun place to walk your dog, however, the homeless population in the area is really extensive. I have to walk my dog by myself, even during the day I didn't feel that safe. A lot of the homeless people will do drugs behind the wall adjacent to the apartment, so I had to call the police often. They also broke into several cars while we were living there including my fiances, I'm not sure if its gotten better since CA is slowly opening back up. The firework situation in the area is outrageous so I dont think it would work for vets or timid dogs, like mine. A lot of people shot off fireworks in the trail behind the apartment which sucked. The cleanliness of the complex is great, but again, the area really brings down the ratings. It was a great first apartment and I loved living here before COVID happened. Hopefully once it gets better the area will also go back to better!"
"I lived there for 5 years and I truly enjoyed my time there. They have really done slight improvements over the years and is really a great place to call home if you're looking for affordable rent with immediate access to freeways. One thing I miss is their really spacious bedrooms. Not far from bixby knolls and lakewood if you need shopping or want to eat out. Really good bang for your buck!"
"I've been here for just about 5 years. With the exception of the spiders (usually on the outside of the apartment complex), it's a great affordable place to stay. The floor plans are great, the price is great, and the maintenance staff are very helpful if there is any issue. I like how it's next to the 710fwy, 405 fwy, and the 91fwy. I don't like how there isn't a nearby grocery store but there are plenty of markets to go to."
"A good place to live if you're on a budget, want to be freeway adjacent, aren't afraid of living in an older building or of spiders. The apartment, a one bed and one bath, is well laid out with lots of open space in the living/dining area. The kitchen is cramped, and my wife and I had trouble both occupying it at once. There also isn't much storage or counter space in the kitchen. The bedroom is well sized. The closet was ample enough and there was also a hall closet which is similarly sized. The bathroom is serviceable in terms of size with a tub and single sink. All apartments come with a balcony (no patios) which included a sizeable storage space. The range in the kitchen was electric and included an oven. There was an air conditioning unit in the living room which provided both cooled and warm air. When we moved in we paid for the optional security door because the neighborhood, while not terrible, also didn't inspire confidence. The complex itself proved to be very quiet. You would frequently find transients camped out in the river when it was dry, which was most of the year. They generally kept to themselves. It's also a non-smoking property. Take that as you will, but my wife and I enjoyed that aspect of living there. Speaking of the property, they had a medium sized pool & small jacuzzi, with tables, chairs, & umbrellas which was also home to the mail boxes. They also had a common room attached to the front office. There was a combination of covered subterranean and uncovered surface lot parking, and a laundry room on every floor. The one bedroom unit came with one reserved parking spot with an option to rent a second when/if it became available. If you didn't have a spot, you had to try to get one of the few (ten or so for the whole complex) visitor spots which were outside the gates, or park in one of the nearby neighborhoods and walk in. Because it was a three floor complex, there were two elevators that worked the vast majority of the time. The elevators showed their age but were reliable. The laundry room was a mixed bag. It was a rare occasion that all the machines worked, or that all the machines worked well. Several of the dryers would often require two spins to get the job done. The office staff was always friendly if a little hard to find. On weekends when only one was in the office, we'd find them out of the office and out on the property more often than not. Maintenance requests were handled quickly and properly, and entries almost always occurred with at least a weeks notice. There were a few mornings when there was no hot water to be had, because the complex used a shared boiler, but these were few and far between only occurring two or three times a year. Aside from the dubious nature of the neighborhood, the location is excellent for commuters being at the intersection of the 91 & 710 Freeways and close to the 405. It's also only 15 minutes from the Lakewood Mall and Restaurant Row, and from The Pike and downtown Long Beach. Last but not least, spiders, spiders, and more spiders. During the warm months they are all over the place. Not so much in the apartment if your careful, but all over the outside and on pretty much every external light fixture. The place is pretty much perpetually decorated for Halloween. They are not the dangerous kind in our experience and generally harmless. Ultimately we left because I got a job in Orange County, and we wanted to even out our commutes. My wife and I would generally agree we enjoyed our stay there. For the money, it couldn't be beat, but the flip side of that coin is that you get what you for. Basically it's a comfortable place to live for not a lot of money."
