"The facility is well maintained. No issues with management."
"Do not under any circumstances move in here or do business with these people. The building is infested with bedbugs and roaches and their idea of pest control is to blame the people who complain, and tell them to hire their own exterminator. This is not any single resident manager; I have lost track of the number we have had since it opened but it has been five this year. So far. The position is currently vacant. It is a matter of policy with this organization. They have been unable to do this to me since the bedbugs are in the unit next door -- which has been refusing treatment -- and each and every time they inspect hoping to find some so they can blame me, they find nothing. They have instead been calling me crazy. As in, the exterminator says you don't have bedbugs, and have you been taking your medication? This has been going on for eighteen months and I am done. Naming and shaming. I found a bedbug under my pillow and took it to a county entomologist for identification, since the exterminators they hired claim everything is a cockroach. He confirmed that it was a live bedbug and gave me a letter on county letterhead that said so. They proceeded to have a meeting -- the resident manager, the regional manager, and Janet, the regional manager's boss -- which they brainstormed ways that this might be my fault (ie, she went to her father's funeral, maybe she brought in bedbugs from there....etc). I know this because someone who advocates for me from another agency attended. They weren't interested in listening to him though. Shortly afterwards several of the bites became infected, and Stanford Hospital felt the need to admit me overnight to make sure the antibiotics were working. Their response to this was that they had done their due diligence and were not responsible. It goes on. I had to move out for the sake of my health, although I have been paying rent in hopes that they would take care of this. They told the City of Sunnyvale they were going to. They drenched my apartment in pesticide but allowed the neighbor to continue refusing treatment, so the only change has been pointless exposure to pesticides for me, someone who is supposed to avoid chemical exposure. Now that I am trying to get my subsidy transferred to another building, they are now spraying again, but they are using a cockroach insecticide -- I suspect it is cheaper -- and telling the agencies I complain to that I never discussed this with them (!) and that yes yes they are spraying adjoining units now. These people are very talented at slow-walking stupid. As the other reviewer mentioned, they are also completely disorganized and totally unwilling to accept responsibility. Every single time there is a new resident manager any business you have with them starts from zero and they know nothing about anything you told the previous manager. I believe this is genuine broadsiding but they don't seem particularly interested in fixing it. Except that when they need the records, it is an emergency and they make it your emergency. I was visiting my daughter in Albuquerque when Karina decided she needed to know who was using what storage units, and she insisted that I appear in person to tell her which unit was mine. They seem totally unable to process that I am unable to live in my unit, even though I have been writing "uninhabitable and bedbug-infested" on all of my rent payments for months. I second the comments that SS made about their abusive invocation of alleged privacy law. They have repeatedly told me that they cannot discuss their pest control efforts because that would violate HIPAA. That is of course nonsense. They are not a medical facility and they are not a patient. It is not personal protected information that they are STILL not addressing their bedbug issues and if it is they can sue me. In fact, I hope they do. This is my real name and I am the homeless fool who has been paying rent on unit 319 in the forlorn belief that maybe they really are just inept. Come get me. Do not become involved with these predatory and soulless automatons."
"Horrible Management: Before Karina Ferreira came to Parkside Studios they had a very helpful understanding, communicative manager at Parkside Studios including is very nice and helpful assistant. The assistant was doing all my applications process and the manager before was just signing off and reading things over. At the end of my application process in October Karina Ferreira came in and when she came everything started to change with my application, I need to do more things she needed me to come in multiple times at her beck and call. They told me in November they will be filling in a spot I heard nothing from them ,I thought the process took that long.Then in the middle of December Karina Left a message saying that I needed to correct things on my app (That I did with the other manager) and new forms I needed to Fill out. Then days later accused me of being Fradulent and lying. I emailed Charites housing twice that month reporting her for discrimination. She didn’t get back to me weeks later and her excuse was she was on vacation. Now February, I Find a program and they ask me for the info why I was disqualified, I called and the assistant picked up and I told him who I was and asked him the question. He told me he wasn’t able to answer I ask him why and he kept giving me the run around like he was told not to say anything to me.Then he doesn’t give me a reason, and I ask him his name and he rudely say nothing and hands the phone to Karina and I ask her his name she says ‘no’ and continues to rudely say “ who are you?” I tell her That she was being rude and all I asked her was his name. She continued to rudely say tell me who you are and I will be able to give you that private information “ PRIVATE INFORMATION, how shady and weird that a company that is called charities housing now has privacy for the names of people working. From My knowledge I am granted the right to know the name of someone I’m talking to on the phone also. I’m highly disgusted and don’t feel like it’s worth getting the run around and treated badly. Because for someone who works for a company called charities housing and is a manager for disability housing there is no human decency."
