My fiancé and i spent 3 days doing a deep cleaning in the apartment, filled up thumb tack holes and re painted along with paying for a professional carpet cleaning to still at the end be charged $280 for an apartment cleaning by the property. And also they take out your final utility bill off your deposit as well. Deposit is $500 and you’ll be lucky to see $100 when it’s all said and done."

"A lot of bugs in the patio and apartment. Dead bugs are all over the apartment door and window. Sound isolation is very bad. You can hear your neighbors watching TV, taking shower, etc. One of my neighbors wakes up at 3:30am in the morning (due to work) and take a shower at 4, which wakes me up every night."

"They are really good at scamming you out of your deposit! RED FLAG I should have noticed when signing the lease - their company name changes from Park West, to Parkwest to Park West Studios Apartments. Owned by Spieker Companies Inc these people - if you google map them, have many such reviews. If anyone wants me to testify on their behalf in court I'm interested in getting everyone together to get our money back from these criminals. My story - I paid $500 deposit and got back $44. I was told that professional cleaning wouldn't need to be done if we left the apartment in good order according to the checklist I asked to see. I cleaned all day and it was cleaner than when we moved in a month ago. I was also told professional carpet cleaning would cost $60-150 depending on state of carpet. We only lived there a month, didn't wear shoes in the house, there were no pets/stains and it's a jr 1 bedroom - a tiny place...I've seen my previous places that were much bigger steam cleaned in 10 minutes...but these carpet cleaners charged $125. Really?! I called our old manager and asked why this happened. She said she couldn't do anything and referred me to Rosie at head office who only accepts requests in writing apparently and doesn't pick up her phone. So I wrote her a letter to which, of course, I didn't hear back. Upon further research I saw that 1) this company scams people all the time out of deposits 2) Star Janitorial - used to clean the apartment also steam cleans carpets...so why was the second vendor called in?? There is no second vendor. Lastly, we got some bulls*t statement for utilities - "a final statement" - what?? We paid everything and now there are some trash, sewer, water charges?! Point being - their $99 deposit special is bull, they will tell you they need a real deposit from you because there is something not quite right with your application and you will never see that money again."
