"everything about it is just dirty, nothing like the model."
"Aaliyah was extremely helpful during our apartment searching process. I probably emailed her 3-5 times a day for a week and she promptly responded to me with the answers I asked for. When we met in person, she was kind and patient with all of the requests and questions I had. This made me feel much more comfortable in my decision to choose this complex. The location cannot be beat especially for university students/staff working on the west side of campus. It’s also close to the Bart station, popular restaurants, and grocery stores."
"I had such an amazing time touring these apartments. As a Berkeley student I was looking for something within a reasonable price range, in a safe location, and close to eateries. Aaliyah helped me and she was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions. The facilities were nice and clean and I highly recommend these apartments. If you need help with anything Aaliyah is definitely your girl!"
"Current tenant here. If your thinking about staying at any of the Sterling Collections, please look else where. Apartments are more expensive for very bad environments. 1. There are mandatory trash collection which you have to pay for and are billed for monthly. They only collect in the late afternoon for around 2 hours, and if they catch you having the trash outside the "collection period" you will be fined. They don't even collect the trash half the time.. 2. The apartments themselves are horribly designed. Storage areas are either inconvenient or are way too small. They even have "fake" storage areas that look it'll be useful but inside 90% of the room is taken up by something. 3. Lying and bad management. Asked if there would be fans in the apartment, they said yes, but guess what. There's no fans. Was promised a replacement for something within 2 weeks, but after 3 months, still nothing. I've had numerous packages stolen when delivery left it in the mailroom which had security cameras. I contacted the management about this issue and requested security footage to see who is stealing my packages, but they refused and ignored my request. (note: the security camera is ON and is pointing directly at where my package was left, I know this because I had to go to class and saw my package on the way out, but when I came back it was missing. What's the point of having these cameras if they aren't going to use it? Now whenever I order something expensive, I have to go downstairs to pick it up right away or else it gets stolen. I think the fastest time a package was stolen from me was 30 minutes after I received the delivered confirmation. 4. Security issues. The apartment garage door was broken for several weeks, but instead of repairing it, they simply left it open. Over these weeks, bicycles were stolen with the locks cut. Numerous residents contacted management about this but were all ignored. 5. random inconveniences: the apartment is "gated" and you need to use a key fob to get in. That means, no food delivery because they don't have key fobs so you would need to go downstairs to pick it up. That isn't too big of an issue, but what is, is that any delivery service that isn't amazon, fedex, ups or usps, cannot get into the apartment. So unless you want your package to sit outside in downtown berkeley (not recommended) you would need to be there whenever the delivery person arrives or else too bad. Wifi is included but that also means your not allowed to get different plans or different service providers. Internet here is more unreliable than campus wifi, it constantly freezes/disconnects. Contacted the service provider and management, but they basically said it is what it is. You have been warned. - fellow Cal student"
