"I have lived at Balboa for 5 years and it has been truly home! I’m not sure why there are complaints because for all 5 years, the complex has always been clean, management has always addressed my concerns and if they couldn't (which was rare), they were upfront about it! Todd (maintenance) is the sweetest guy and Abriana really cares about making residents happy and feeling their most at home! If you’re looking for a reliable, the right amount of space for a great price and centrally located to everything, Balboa is it! PS- you’ll see the best sunsets here! Doesn’t get better than that!"

"Choose this apartment and forget your security deposit. Very rigid and terrible management. We were charged $2000+ for painting the apartment after we moved out. Stay away from this place if you want to live in peace!"

"STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE! Just look up Spieker companies(property management for these apartments) reviews on Google and Yelp and you will get a good idea of what you are getting into. Me and a couple of my friends stayed here for 3+ years as we were moving to Bay Area and this location seemed ideal for commute. But we had a terrible time dealing with the leasing office. MEDINA who is the property manager is one of the worst human being we have encountered so far. She doesn’t respond to any maintenance request and is almost never in office even during working hours. She would lie to your face most of the time whenever you end up finding her in person and if you counter her in anyway she would behave very rudely. For any question her typical answer would be I have no control. There is no way to reach the Spieker company except for a PO Box number!! We had an extremely hard time vacating this property. Our request to vacate the apartment was ignored by Medina for 10 days and then we were charged with a rent for those 10 days! On top of that we didn’t get our security deposit back with a random bill which didn’t make any sense. We were again asked to write a letter and post it to the parent company if there was any problem, no phone number no email nothing. There are lots of other much better properties in this neighbourhood so please avoid this for your own peace."
