SOMA at 788 Downtown Apartments

"The management team here is awesome and I really enjoy the improvements they’ve made to the building in the 2 years I’ve been here. They care about making the space welcoming and fun with hosted events. Very cool, especially in an area where people tend to keep to themselves. Any physical building issue I’ve had they addressed quickly and without fuss. Secure locker system and garage are also a huge plus. Update: I revised the rating review to focus on the property and management which are great. The loud music thing is luck of the draw anywhere you live but the management here followed up and they’re on it. Thanks!"

"I had a fantastic time last weekend, celebrating both Veterans Day and Diwali. I organized a significant Veterans Day event in the courtyard, and thanks to the incredible support of Tiffany and Sandra, the entire process went seamlessly, making the event a great success. The newly added spill-proof carpets were a nice touch for my guests. I want to express my gratitude for the effort in maintaining a clean, safe, and friendly community. Greatly appreciated - Shel."

"Their management team is UNPROFESSIONAL. I had an virtual tour with Cathryn on Friday. Want to apply on Fri with the quote she gave me. But have to wait until Monday when the manager Tiffany go back to office to adjust the correct price for the apartment. On Monday, Tiffany ask me to gave her 6 months bank statement before apply. And it takes her 6 hours to look my materials. Once been proved, the apartment has already gone. I cannot apply anymore. I think it is unfair and feel discriminate since I must show my bankstatment in order to apply. But others can directly apply without submit any support materials. This is my 7th year in CA, and first time face this situation. The worst and unprofessional team."

"This place was great, everything we expected + more. Apartment was beautiful, nice patio outside, working gym & sauna, and really friendly residents and staff. There was one mixup when we felt we were blamed for someone's dog pooping outside our door and it set a sour tone, but this was resolved rapidly. Maintenance staff was generally available immediately / next day, did a great job of fixing everything, and the full community was generally kind, supportive, and helpful. Malinda and Tiff were also friendly and helpful; wish we had gotten to know them earlier on! And look - going in, we had read some of these negative reviews, so we assumed we weren't getting a deposit back and didn't try too hard to clean up, etc. But those reviews are nonsense - even with admittedly a messier-than-expected apartment exit, we still are going to receive a refund. Did the dryer require a few cycles to truly dry? Yes. Did the dishwasher constantly leak and get the floor wood wet? Occasionally. Did it take a while to get the sauna functional? Sure. Around a year ago, were they obnoxiously running fire drills? Absolutely. But the past is the past - as of when we moved out, all these were resolved. But honestly, this is a great home, nice facility / amenities, and a solid price for SF."
