Reviews
"Overall - 2/5 Resident - April 2022 to March 2023 Apartment - Fiesta Apartments Managed by - Culligan Management Company Photos of how I left the apartment WHILE MOVING OUT are with with this review. Apartment - 3/5 Management - 1/5 Location - 3/5 Building and Amenities - 1/5 Apartment - 3/5 - Good storage space. - Mediocre utilities - dishwasher won't work properly with detergents other than the one advertised. - Average water pressure. - Cramped bathroom. - Apartment will get hot - mine faced west. Will need some form of cooling in the summer to feel comfortable. Building and Amenities - 1/5 - Old building. - No elevator. Moving in and out is a pain. - Hallways smell like weed. The walk from parking to my apartment felt disgusting. - Washers and dryers not enough. Not all functioning properly. Almost always a leak and water on the floor. - Not enough guest parking/ Guest parking always full. - Pool and barbeque area right next to the street and hardly seen anyone use it. - Not enough recycling bins for all residents. Management will call threatening janitorial charges if boxes won’t be broken down and fit in bins. - Power cuts were often in this area during my stay. Location - 3/5 - I chose this apartment because of location - Close to trader joes, costco, safeway. - However, the roads in San Mateo are not the safest to drive on. Roads to costco/safeway will have you merging on pretty dangerous ramps/exits. - Building next to highway and will be noisy/loud. Management - 1/5 - Mislead about expected utility bill. Bill was rarely below $140 for 1 person - Mislead about online payments. while touring I was told online payments will be implemented by Dec'22. Paying by checks till I moved out. - If you work 9-5, hard to hand the check in-person. Your trust in management and neighborhood will decide your comfort with this - All communication from mgmt is paper, no emails. Easy to miss notices stuck on the door if you are away - Eg - I told mgmt when I was going out of the country for a while. While I was out, multiple notices were put on my door including one for a walk-in inspection. No emails were sent. I received a voicemail 2 days before the inspection asking if I had moved out since there were many notices on the door. - Another time, mgmt walked in to inspect fire extinguisher. I was at work while my fiance (who was visiting) was working at home. Mgmt caught her mid meeting and questioned her as to why she was there and asked her to fill out an application. - Lease signing on paper and in person. - If moving from out-of-state, deposit will be higher. - Mgmt will threaten janitorial charges if boxes aren't broken down and fit in bins. Not enough bins - Move out charges will include painting charges - if you stay for less than 3 yrs (I stayed only 1 yr and I was charged $200 as painting charges). Pictures of how I left the apartment is with this review. I regret trying to keep the walls clean. - Move out charges will include cleaning charges. I was out of the country until around March 20th, my move out date was March 31. Mgmt scheduled a move out inspection while I was out of the country. I spent last week of March cleaning the apartment. I was asked by the mgmt if I wanted the apt cleaned on March 31. I informed them that I am finishing up cleaning by end of day March 31. I was charged $230 as cleaning fee which was cut from my deposit. I asked for a receipt of the cleaning fee in April. Did not hear back. Asked again and received the receipt in June. Per the receipt, the cleaning was ordered on March 17th - ○ Cleaning ordered when I was out of the country; ○ Cleaning ordered on March 17th when my move out date was March 31st and the state of the apartment will not be known till April 1st; ○ I was asked on March 31st if I needed the entire apartment cleaned; ○ I was not informed that the cleaning was already ordered wasting an entire week of my time cleaning the apartment. The pictures of how I left the apartment are with this review."
