Walgreens Pharmacy 10407 Santa Monica Boulevard, Los Angeles, CA 90025

"We just got back from UCLA Santa Monica Hospital only to find out they sent our prescription to their hospital pharmacy and not this one, which is preferred to us solely on the basis of convenience/distance from home. When I called the hospital to find out how I can transfer the prescription, they said… no problem, just have your pharmacist call us! I call the Walgreen’s pharmacy 10 minutes before 4 PM, had to wait about 20 minutes before someone finally answered the phone. Filled them in on what I needed, ended the call with… so you will notify us when we can come pick up? Sure, sure, we will send you a message was the response… Walgreen’s pharmacy closed at 6 PM (Saturday) so around 5:15 PM, when we were not notified, I went to the pharmacy to inquire (especially knowing how dang long it takes for someone to pick up the phone). When I get there, I ask if the prescription is ready. The lady says, I don’t even know if they called yet. Turns out they hadn’t called. I ask them if they could call now so I could get the medicine before the pharmacy closed. The lady replies, even if we got the prescription right now it won’t be filled until Monday. Then the pharmacist comes over and says, it’s all over the counter meds anyways. They did at least make the effort to call the hospital pharmacy, but that one closed at 5 PM. So they reiterate, oh it’s all over the counter meds anyways. I asked them why didn’t they call the pharmacy right after I called? It would have been well before closing time if they had. It would have also saved me making the trip over there to find out they couldn’t fulfil the prescription anyways! All I got was a blank stare response and repetition that the meds were also available over the counter. My wife was in a lot of pain, and needed these meds. I guess we should be thankful they were over the counter meds and I wouldn’t need to rely on this pharmacy’s incompetence to ease her suffering! I have no idea how a pharmacy operates, I’ve never had an issue with picking up a prescriptions here when the doctor sends it directly to this pharmacy… so maybe my criticism is out of left field, but I feel like at the minimum you could at least apologize! Maybe even help me select the over the counter version of the meds that my wife was prescribed instead of just saying I can find it myself. Maybe when I called, you could inform me that there was no way you could fulfill this prescription today, or ask me when I need to have this prescription filled so I can evaluate for myself if I want to transfer the prescription over, or drive all the way back to the hospital to pick it up. VERY disappointed in their customer service! Buyer beware if you need to rely on this pharmacy for more serious medications!"

"This place is easily the worst most unprofessional staff of pharmacists and technicians I’ve ever met. They are incompetent, rude, and quite often create an unsafe environment for their customers!! They routinely mess up my prescriptions and then argue with me to take the medication that could harm me! Every-time I’ve had the displeasure of going there, they get my medication wrong and try to overcharge me! Every FREAKIN time! I’ve never met a group of people who consistently underachieve and risk their customers lives! Every single one of them should be fired and have their licenses revoked!!!"

"I wish I can give this place ZERO stars. One of the worst pharmacies in LA. Its always busy too. Staff never calls you if theres an issue. It takes forever to fill the most simplistic prescriptions. I have to call them over and over to get anything done. They are overworked too (I blame Corporate for this part). Its dangerous what they make their pharmacist deal with. Be careful and be prepared to have the patience of a G-D when going there."

"Many people shared the same opinion but nothing has changed so I feel this review is still warranted: there is always a looooong line here because they seem to only have one person working at a time. This causes major back-up when one customer is taking quite a bit of time. It just isn’t ideal to wait for THAT long."

"I've been coming here for almost a year and even though the people are nice and try to do their job, they are clearly understaffed. There is always a long wait. All the other customers are miserable and frustrated, and it makes the long wait even more uncomfortable. Then you have some inconsiderate person try to jump the line because they're "not getting a script" even though the med they want is kept behind the counter. I have also had to make multiple visits for the same script because they don't have enough on hand. I am transferring my prescription out as I stand in line."
