"How is this place still open? They treat their patients and employees like dirt! Just look at all the responses to all the reviews. They're all the same. They can't even take the time to give an individualized response. Someone's over there making bank just copying and pasting....... UPDATE 2/27/24 - and as you can see below, they copied and pasted the same response here as well. I will be sharing this and my personal experiences to the Board of Pharmcy. This pharmacy should not be allowed to remain open. If you are reading this, turn around and never look back!"
"Use a different pharmacy, go elsewhere. Supplies seem to be the hardest thing for this place to get right and ship out on time. 3 weeks before Thanksgiving I put in a request for a refill and it finally came today, WITH THE WRONG SUPPLIES. This being after I had to pay cash directly to Tandem for an emergency shipment. Of course they're closed on the weekends. If this is going to be Tandems distributor for their supplies then I'm switching back to Medtronic, never once in 25 years did I ever have an issue with getting my supplies and getting the correct ones."
"My partner is a type 1 diabetic and gets his supplies through mini pharmacy. We have had so many issues getting his supplies. Most recently, we put in a refill request early October and hadn’t received any updates whatsoever. It got close to the end of October when he completed ran out of supplies and he called every two days to see how soon he could get something. Every representative he talked to gave him a different answer with no care at all about him having nothing. First, they said they would work on the order on Oct 31st. Then after not receiving anything, called Nov 2 to which they said they were working on it and it should be received by Saturday. Nov 6 rolls around, we call again and we’re finally being told it’s getting shipped that day! Upon receiving the order, the date of refill was October 4th, there is absolutely no reason for the processing to take over a month. This pharmacy has continuously shown how unreliable and uncaring they are towards their patients. If you can get your supplies elsewhere, do so for your sake and your sanity."
"As of today 10/19/23 I am still trying to get my supplies that I have been calling about since before 9/21/23. I am also 36 weeks pregnant and if I don’t take insulin both I and the baby could die. I have had to rely on the kindness of my Diabetic nutritionist who keeps some supplies in her office to provide me with a few infusion sets so that I can continue to use my insulin pump. I have stressed this to mini pharmacy as I have completely run out of supplies on several occasions and have received 7 total infusion sets from my nutritionist (lasting me 15 days that I otherwise would have been without insulin and an additional 6 days I would continue to be without). A little over view: 9/21/23- Was told my supplies were going to be shipped out 9/26/23- Was told they still didn’t have the complete prescription from my Endocrinologist and was told I needed him to fill for insulin cartridges as well as infusion sets, not one or the other, but both. (Why was I told they were being shipped then?) 9/28/23- Was told they couldn’t get ahold of my endocrinologist and left messages. I got a hold of my endocrinologist and insurance for prescription. Was told they would follow up with my insurance by 10/4/23 10/4/23- Followed up with pharmacy and insurance, insurance sent prior authorization. Was told by pharmacy my supplies would arrive in 2-3 business days. 10/9/23- Followed up with pharmacy to make sure supplies were coming, was told they couldn’t send them because they needed a clinical note. Couldn’t get ahold of endocrinologist to get clinical note (apparently once they had the clinical note they could send out my supplies) 10/12/23- Followed up with pharmacy and insurance to make sure everything was in order, was told by pharmacy they needed the clinical note, was told by insurance “Alga” canceled the prior authorization (mini pharmacy denies this happening despite my insurance having a recorded conversation of them saying to cancel) 10/13/23- Had endocrinologist send clinical note. 10/17/23- Mini pharmacy received clinical note, was told by “Sophie” my supplies would be sent out that night or tomorrow morning and I could call to confirm the next day. 10/18/23- Was told by “Alga” that they needed prior authorization and it was sent out on 10/17/23 for approval by my insurance. Was told the previous authorization was expired as of September (why is it only now being investigated if it’s been expired for two weeks), was told by insurance the prior authorization was valid until January, but since it was canceled by the pharmacy it was no longer valid. The exact quote used by “Alga” was “I told you we needed prior authorization first”. (No, she didn’t, I was told they needed the clinical note and the prescription would arrive 3-5 business days after they received the clinical note because it would be sent out on 10/17/23) 10/19/23- Insurance received prior authorization and will send it back in 5-7 business days because it was written as a “general refill” (mini pharmacy assured me it was listed as urgent and they would do every thing they could do expedite it). Was told by my insurance it can be expedited if they just call the insurance and say they wanted it expedited. Was told by “Sophie” she would send an email to have it called in as expedited. As a pregnant woman I should not have to stress about how am I going to continue to get my supplies. As someone with hypertension in pregnancy the stress of this has already resulted in a hospital stay 10/18/23-10/19/23. I was told I might not be able to leave the hospital on the principle that I can’t obtain my diabetic supplies if I do and at least in the hospital they can give me insulin through an IV. I’m being induced at 37 weeks on 10/25/23 (the day I’m set to run out of supplies again) and the possibility that I might have to care for a newborn from a hospital for the first week or weeks of life because I can’t obtain my diabetic supplies and won’t be discharged if I can’t get my insulin through my pump is unacceptable. Mini pharmacy has left me with little choice."
"Mini Pharmacy seems like a legit establishment from the website. Very prejudice against hiring outside the privileged race. Will interview you, but will lie and deceive you according to your genetic makeup, or geographical residency. Which is very hypocritical, being in the heart of skid row. My experience will be reported to EEOC. From reading the comments, I learned alot about the reputation and how the company treats it patients. And according to all the 1 star ratings, it is a definite reflection on how you treat your staff as well. This is horrible. I have dealt with a Julie from human resources who seemed nice from the start, but doesn't practice professional behavior there after. Viewing the way she handles business totally turned me off. I will NOT give my business to a company that puts someone like her in control. Totally unreliable, she doesn't follow up with clients, and very misleading. Someone needs to follow up and manage how she does business for Mini Pharmacy. First impressions are EVERYTHING. And I will be withdrawing all my clients and business from today going forward. Very sad to part ways. I had so much faith in your company. I can see how this would be a trickle down effect throughout your establishment. It's such a sad situation for those who need urgent medical life threatening attention. Not a good look in the medical community at all. I will definitely spread the word."
