"Very bad experience. As a traveling contractor representing Mascot construction on a timely project my management order 8ft led light bulbs a week early for me to be able to do my job and was told my order was not fully successful.I got portions of order that day and was told that the rest was coming later to find out it wasn't coming for another two week later. Not only that order was push back but another order was push back til October 31st.I understand that things happen, but to not to be told after I already started my job and could not finish my job cause of this screw up or mishap is what got me upset and it's costing me $100 a day to sit around and wait for another lighting company to sent me my bulbs.Thank you grainger which we are a big customer of your service but really was let down this time."
"Grainger was steady & reliable as always. Found what I needed online & was told it's in stock @ Grainger on Atlas Ave in Madison. Shame on me forgetting to note the p/n but Paul at the front counter found it within 10 seconds. I was outta there within 3 mins with what I came in to buy. I wish everyplace worked like this. Thank you, Grainger!"
"I'm not a contractor, but a homeowner. I went to the website and filtered by parts that were in stock at the local Madison branch. I placed my online order before business hours. Walked in about 90 minutes after they opened. The guy nicely greeted me at the door and asked if I needed help, grabbed the part within 1 minute, and I was out. It was a very good experience, and I'd be happy to buy from there again. I was a little nervous because they said they might refuse to sell some parts to non-businesses, but I ordered a capacitor (electrical part for outside AC unit) which might have potential safety issues, and I got it fine, so I'm not sure which parts they would refuse to sell."
"Have been buying supplies and parts at the local Grainger for several years and always found the staff to be courteous and very knowledgeable. A couple I was actually surprised that they knew what I was talking about because what I needed was very specialized. I used to be able to get the local guys on the phone but lately when I call I get the call center folks and that's not as good so I have to go in person."
"Customer service was horrible. Ordered a part, told me it would be there in the morning. I shower up, it wasn't there. They never called or emailed me. I then was told it would be there in the afternoon. I waited till the afternoon, called, but the store does not allow you to call them. You have to be sent to a customer service line from another location. They took over 1.5 hours to let me know that it may be there later in the evening but that I may have to wait an additional day. Meanwhile, I am in the situation where I need the part right away and twice they have failed to stand behind their statements as well as making me lose an hour of driving to pick up the item that was never there. Rough company."
