"I was born with knee problems and as a teen "growing pains" were far worse than the average kid, my Dr at the time (NOT THIS OFFICE) barely did anything before he was ready to cut my right knee open in 2 weeks.... scary for a 14 yr old. I realized over the next year that the Dr was just "knife happy" & cared more about $ than patients, as I watched many of my classmates get their knees worked on. My knee was never the same even hurting more over the years than the one I didn't have surgery on, even though I was advised to do it after my first surgery healed. Glad I never did. 7 years ago I did something to my right knee that created constant pain, I was referred to Dr. Rumack at Professional Orthopedics. I went in with hestitation thinking I was just going to get cut open again. I was pleasantly surprised that he actually wanted to figure it out!!! Wait, what is this a surgeon that cares? After 4 mos of xrays, MRI's, braces', & light physical therapy we had exhausted every non-surgical avenue to healing the issue, Dr Rumack was reluctant to go in but he gave me the choice to live with it continue to stregthen or go in & explore. I made the unpressured decision to do the surgery. He gave me everything I needed to be on the mend prior to surgery, crutches, a brace & medication scrip, I remember my mom running around the day I had my 1st surgery getting all this stuff!! Turns out it was a very small tear in my miniscus & some built up scare tissue, he cleaned it up & I have occational pain, mainly from over doing it & not listening to my body. Since then I have come to realize that I am accident prone & stairs are my enemy, I have seen Dr. Rumack for my ankle, shoulder, knees (of course), elbows... & basic check-up's. I am 150% certain that there have been at least 2x that he could have said "lets do surgery", however he is NOT knife happy, he really is all about trying to heal & stregthen before giving you options. I have become very fond of the entire office staff, they know the patients by name, are friendly & very professional. I recommend Dr Rumack to everyone as the most amazing Ortho ever!! -Apryll Geib"
