"I learned a lot of skills for my mental health here. I had a pretty good experience with the group setting and I really loved Evelyn one of the Psychiatrists. She was amazing. I really want to have her as my Individual Therapist because of how well she handles people and also challenges them. Iv'e been confused with a thought for years and on the second day I remember her blowing my mind by asking me a question that made perfect sense. I just don't understand how she can listen so well but also understand everything your saying and I can tell she really cares. :) She also wears cool clothing. XD"
"The care and compassion of the staff is phenomenal. I was a basket case when I walked in their door and they helped me break my issues down into manageable issues. They gave me the tools I needed to get through each day."
"If I could give this place zero stars I would. For starters this place is the most unprofessional, unorganized, inconsistent program that I’ve ever been in. Each day began with them being unorganized, case worker/therapist hardly knew which room they were supposed to be in, we would sit down and then be moved to another room, then sent back to the room we started in. They would give handouts as if we were in school, but wouldn’t go over the handouts would just skim through it and expect us to know and understand. Then work became repetitive, so we wouldn’t learn anything knew. The most knowledgeable things we would learn is from each other, because the case workers would hardly teach. You would only get about 5 minutes with the doctor, half the time it was him scribbling things down, or prescribing hella medication. The food was horrible, and inhumane. One time we received what they called mystery meat. The staff was unprofessional, and very triggering. One lady was discharged as the staff putting her on paperwork as a male instead of a woman, which was very triggering especially when all of us at the program are dealing with illnesses, and there are some who identify as what they prefer and it should be required that the staff respect that. They also falsified my discharge paperwork stating that I successfully completed the program, and that my levels were so much better when in fact I discharged myself because the program wasn’t beneficial, and my levels were getting worse. Do not attend this program I promise you, the best workers were Phong, David, and Shantaya. Everyone else is ridiculous"
"I would not recommend this program as it dehumanizes an individual that is in mental distress/ fragile state of mind. Group therapy setting felt more like a case study, rather than help as video surveillance cameras were in both group rooms and entry. The nurse in wellness group would look at the camera often. Further, the Psychiatrist spent 2 minutes or less with clients and on initial evaluation looked as if he was scribbling notes, rather than documenting what client was sharing. Client Charts with client names were also fully exposed in his office on top of his table. The nurse lacked empathy and patience, and asked for the front help worker to assist her even though he himself was bias and treated minority race individuals with more respect than other clients. The social worker wore a nurse outfit, very confusing. And grasped for information out of you without necessarily doing anything with it. Most of the outside providers are bias and do not have a neutral perspective as those working in the mental health field should. One outside provider said out loud, “I’m going to take a long vacation now” in front of the client who she humiliated in group meeting after everyone was dismissed as she walked into the staff office. Additionally, this provider in larger group setting laughed about very sensitive topics with other clients making the environment not feel safe as it should have been. When it clearly stated on the door, “No laughing at others” as one of the rules in group setting. With that being said, other clients were not necessarily respectful and one individual said, “karma” nonchalantly after this group. Another provider in small group setting that they switch you to and from one room to another based on their idea of where you should go, triggered myself, raising her tone when triggering me further until I had to leave the room for air. Very inappropriate for a healing/ safe space to receive condescending or mixed messages. Last, headphones were needed to sound out the hate in the room and one sided opinions from my experience week or so in , and I was called out for using them one day to listen to a therapeutic song, when a girl the day prior had headphones in group and she was not told to put them away. In other words, unfair/ bias treatment. There was also a doctor who was their the first day to do a physical check and never returned. Phuong was the only outside provider with a neutral perspective and allowed a space for healing. This program should be shutdown and people need individual therapy/ more privacy for direct care. This is not a healthy environment to receive help in crisis."
"My therapy with Van and Christina was the best. The professionalism and compassion they deliver to the outpatient profram is outstanding. Many thanks to Sierra Vista and all the staff for providing exceptional service."
