"Incompetent doctors and staff. Messed up test codes all the time and stressed out patients. Wrong diagnosis made patients conditions worse. Way overcharged service fees and fraudulent appeal process. Still can't believe one of the highest reputable places in the world is actually a scam."
"Just want to echo everyone else's comments here; nothing new. Phone tag, excessive holds, incorrect contact numbers... These people are either wildly incompetent or are just trying to save as much money as possible by under-staffing the phone and making it difficult to get to a live person. Probably both."
"I had a couple procedures done that required anesthesia. Marisol was the one who administered the anesthesia. I was very informative with her in how I didn’t need a lot administered. Not only was she unfriendly when I was nervous before the procedure, she gave me way too high of a dose of anesthesia. I have never left a past procedure in the early afternoon and still felt drugged up the next day. I think Marisol needs to go back to school and work on calculating the correct dose for patients. Maybe work on her people skills too. I’m in the medical field and I’m friendly with my patients. Marisol doesn’t come off as someone who enjoys her job. As for Dr. Sean Paul Spencer, I don’t even remember what he said to me because he talked to me when I was still under anesthesia. I haven’t even received any word on how he’s going to treat my GI problems. Anytime I message him, he has the nurse respond which isn’t helpful. Maybe Dr. Spencer needs to focus on actually communicating with his patients instead of just expressing how he’s a scientist and does a lot of research on GI issues. If he’s a scientist and knows what he’s doing, then communicate with patients like myself on what the plan for treatment is, because I’m clueless right now. I was referred here to get help, but I’m not feeling that it’s going in that direction so far."
"Played phone tag with this place for two weeks to get a leaking peg tube replaced. No such luck and decided to go to another hospital. Was informed that the delay was due to a delay in supplies, but I had to call back 4x in order to get a response. Terrible internal communications. Additionally, when my mom first had her peg tube placed by ER at Stanford, they failed to schedule a follow up appointment for us or inform us that was a possibility at Digestive Health (despite it technically being placed by doctors in that department). I had to call several times to get us on the schedule. This level of patient advocacy shouldn’t be needed given that this was all done through Stanford. I can easily see how patients may be churned through ER to never receive follow up and subsequently have terrible patient outcomes. Shame on such a supposedly “elite” hospital for having these gaps in communication between departments and follow-up procedures."
"Really disappointed in this place. The doctors and NP's have little to no communication, and even after having a severe, undiagnosed illness for 9+ months - they've offered one prescription, for a medicine I've already been on. The other staff are a joy to be around."
