WEA Trust

"WEA Trust is not a trustworthy company. I have been given the runaround, like many other reviewers have experienced, for three months. The expect me to pay for costs exceeding my insurance deductible for an in network exam, ordered by my physician that was deemed a medically necessary preventative exam. I have been through customer service where I was told to ask my physician to change the codes for the exam. When I did that, they still refused to cover any of the charges. Since reaching out to customer service a third time, they have now ghosted me for two weeks. It seems they are trying to play the waiting game so they can walk away at the end of the year with a profit before exiting the market."

"I just received an explanation of benefits saying I will have to pay 33k for an in-network hospital stay. I am angry, but WEA Trust has already announced that they are going out of business, so I am not sure what can be done. ******** Have called customer service multiple times, including while in the hospital. I am in the process of filing a grievance, but as others say received the runaround. I have had to read to the customer service representative the information on the explanation of benefits as to the information that they must give me to even contest the denial of benefits. The customer service representatives have no idea and after requesting all the information they used in their decision process received three scant pages that were illegible with no information. My name was misspelled, my employer's name was misspelled."

"Negative stars if possible. After approving every step of the process for my wife's care, they decided less than a week before her surgery to deny the medically necessary surgery. They refused to meet with her surgeon about it, refused to open a grievance, denied they have an expedited process despite the form they sent her to listing it, everyone in customer service was the opposite of helpful, and the provider shared they have never had this issue before. I would rather deal with AT&T customer service than them."

"I have always found the company helpful and timely. They are much better than other insurance companies as far as hold time and answering questions. I appreciate that I always talk to a person rather than having to go through several menu of recorded options. I think that the problem that many of the low rating patrons have is having a plan (determined by employers I imagine) that doesn't cover very much rather than the administration of the plan."

"Their grievance process is a joke. Our experience with this company has been horrible. I do not recommend them. They dropped my kids long time doctor from their network. Then the bills came (many of them) and they refused to pay. Went through grievance process and they told us it was our job that we need to check the doctors every year. You would think that they would hire someone to call us or send us a letter informing us of such a major change, but none of that happened."
