"I had my wife at PIH in Whittier and she had one of the rudest, egotistical male nurse named Adan. We suspect that this nurse was intentionally drugging her. My wife said she thinks he was drugging her in the middle of the night. When she woke up in the morning she called me panicking and I had to go pick her up immediately. I am on the verge of making a police report. But we are not completely sure as to what happened. She also believes that he may be having control and intimating a few of the other nurses."
"The worst healthcare i have ever experienced. If you are having a medical emergency or are giving birth do not come here. Was admitted for 24 hours, so had 2 shift changes and was only checked on by a nurse 3 times in the total 24 hours, doctors cant be bothered to discuss care or make any decisions that get to the bottom of whats going on, they just want to send you on your way if youre not dying while in their presence. Seriously the worst healthcare EVER!!!"
"If you want a level of personalized care with staff that actually invest critical thinking skills and compassion in each case I would highly recommend pih! I made the mistake of recently going to Kaiser for my care and there is no comparison. Yes Kaiser may have some better technology however you can't replace compassion and thoroughness and a more traditional style of medicine like PIH offers. It remains that Community Hospital that it always was but still provides care for tens of thousands of people in the greater LA area with the most diverse patient population in the whole state arguably. PIH has a very diverse staff that speak multiple languages and really do put patients first as their motto says. They will provide you care based off of clinical judgment not some tight algorithm like Kaiser. They prescribe treatment and medication that's necessary versus some strict list that's only formulary like kaiser."
"I don't usually leave reviews but I feel like I am out of options. This is a PSA if you plan to use PIH for an annual physical and do not want to get charged additional fees. I visited PIH for the first time in October 2023 and did my annual physical which is fully covered by my insurance. I received a bill in December for a second outpatient and preventative medicine visit. I was confused by this charge and reached out to the billing team and Cerritos office managers. I was informed I was charged due to my answers when I was asked how I was doing by the doctor during the annual physical. I have always been able to speak openly about my health or if I felt anything was wrong during an annual physical and was not informed by PIH that doing so would result in an additional charge. I believe this is a misleading practice and feel taken advantage of since it was my first time using PIH. The office managers and billing team both informed me that there is nothing they could do, and the office managers mentioned that they have been charged in the same manner before by PIH and just did not want to fight the charge. As such, I have to leave a review so others know this before using PIH."
"I have had negative experiences with this hospital dozens of times. The Primary Care office assigned to me by my insurance, on the 5th floor, is a residency office. Which means that by the time your pcp understands you and your medical history, they're gone and you get a new, young doctor. Now, I've been trying to get ahold of that office for 2 weeks. When you call the holding recording warns you the wait time is 140+ minutes. I've waited, only to be hung up on. Several times. They have a call back feature, which I've used several times, even remembering to hit "#" at the end, and nope, still no return calls. I spoke to someone from Digestive Health Services on the 4th floor for an unrelated issue. I explained how I've been trying for 2 weeks to talk to the office above her. She tried, in vain, to reach that office, it's supervisor, or it's manager. I've had negative experiences with their front desk too. Yes, some of their staff do a fantastic job, but they obviously also have some gaping holes in the ship. It's obviously sinking if they're only recently installing parking charges and automated systems to charge you to park there. I hope things get better, because it's ONLY PEOPLE'S LIVES AT STAKE HERE, but when a corporation who cares more about profit than lives or customer satisfaction get their greasy mitts on something, the end results are rarely positive for us."
