"This is my 2nd visit to this hospital due to dehydration & infection caused by chemotherapy. My 1st visit was Feb 20, 2024. Admission was quick & all nurse's assigned to me were courteous, kind & understanding. Food was served hot enough & delivered to my room on time. My 2nd visit March 9, 2024 everything was running smooth until Mon 3/11/24 by lunch time. My lunch was left outside my door & I ate it cold & that continued days after. I would hit the nurse button requesting food to be heated & after waiting over 2 hrs my request was met. I requested to speak to the doctor on call to complain about how fast meds were given into my IV & how I had to request for them instead of having a time set for it. During my stay only 4 nurse's Bernard, Elizabeth & Melissa & Chante were attentive. The other nurse's acted as if they didn't want to care for the patient. Some nurse's I didn't even know their names. I complained to the social wkr that walked in today 3/12/24 but nothing changed after she left. Until nurse Melissa walked in after 6pm & I told her everything from given medications into IV rapidly, to cold meals left outside my room, hitting the red button for nurse assistance multiple times & no one showing up & not being able to speak to any doctor on call. Which I feel my message was probably not related to the doctor on call. I just hope that by me posting my experience at Martin Luther King Jr Hospital which was horrible service during my 2nd stay that major changes can be made to better the patients stay."
"The worse experience after my visit with Endocrinologist I was told to call in the doctor to discuss any issues about the new medication. When I call no one seems to care about what's going on. I'm diabetic after 32 years I had to change medication and these people don't care if you get the right medication or not. No way to speak with the doctor and when I told the clerk to please let the doctor knows about the issues or to call me to an specific phone number they just don't want to change any info on profile. She kept saying doctor will call you at the phone listed on your profile even though I said I'm not able to pick up that phone when I'm working so please call me at my work number. She replied Doctor will call you at the phone listed on profile."
"Came into the ER on 1-18-24 for stomach pain , service is very poor , I cannot recall the Doctors name but he was very annoyed and seemed really careless , the nurse that took out my blood was also rude, I have a fear with needles and when I saw they were going to take blood I asked how many tubes and she proceeded to say “A lot we are in a ER” keep in mind i have a fear of needles. This nurse did not ask once if I was okay or how I was doing . The nurses need to do better at comforting their patients not just rushing to get them done with . This nurse ended up going to break and a male nurse came and covered for her , he was WAAAAYYY more concerned, nice and gentle . MLKH please do better when treating patients, keep in mind people come here for help not to be mistreated ."
"Medical Staff from Emergency to Labor and Delivery were fast acting and has great communication skills. The Labor and Delivery staff are respectful, patient, kind, and considerate. The Room and Bathroom was very spacious, comfortable, and clean. The 48 hour care I received was awesome. Great Hospital to Deliver a Baby. I had a Grateful experience. Amazing Place."
