""He wants her gone!" That is what I was told by a rotating case worker Jennifer at Los Robles Hospital after my mum suffered a mild stroke. My mum was taken to Los Robles on 14 February 2024. My mum is 90 years of age, suffers from dementia and has been in my care for several years. It is distressing to say the least to watch a parent /love one go through this insidious disease. To compound the situation my mum suffered a stroke. The ER held her for several hours, much to long for someone in her stated condition Back and forth between imaging and ER, until finally given a room at 5am. The transport to her room was met by a disgruntled employ having a bad day. The on shift nurse received my mum with a cold and condescending attitude when I delivered a message from the ER doctor. I then spoke with charge nurse and the nurse was switched with a nurse with a better temperament..My mum's stay lasted two weeks, with the unfortunate mishandling of catheterization. It left her pained severally and scarred both physically and emotionally. Upon the last days leading up to discharge, I asked for blood draws to continue so I would better understand her WBC, as my mum has lymphoma and it progressed. The attending doctor scoffed and did not want to give me the tests and subsequent results, so I would understand how best to keep my mum comfortable as I am her primary caregiver. The discharge was a total nightmare. This was by far the worst treatment ever. I was contacted by Jennifer a rotating case manager informed me that the attending wanted my mum "Gone" Now understand, I stayed for 8 to 10 hours/day in my mum's room to watch over her, and to be present of her condition. So for me or anyone to be treated in this manner was beyond disappointment. I was angry. My mum is a person, not a piece of furniture to be moved or or discarded. I reach out to hospital to voice the ill treatment, as of this review, no one has responded. Perhaps, it is the complexion of my family that has Everything to do with this type of treatment. I am beyond disheartened at this medical facility treatment of my mum or anyone else's loved one. DO BETTER!!! YOU ALL TOOK AN OATH!!!"
"I had surgery at a different hospital two days ago. Yesterday evening I started to have a severe abdominal pain radiating to my back and since I always go to Los Robles and also because I wanted to avoid going to the same hospital in case I needed another surgery, we went to Los Robles hospital. At the entrance the lady sitting there asked for my ID. My poor husband who was freaking out because of my pain couldn’t find my ID and I was in a lot of pain to even look and help. The lady asked for my name and entered it on the machine and put the arm band.on my wrist. We waited a good 20 minutes and no clinical staff came to ask us any questions. My pain was getting worse and I needed to lay down because sitting was making my situation worse! I went to the car to lay down and I was about to faint because I also have vasovagal. My husband freaked out and called 911 they asked him for our location and he said front of the main entrance. They said to hold and they will call ER. They called ER and they said help is on the way. 2 guys came and started to ask me how did I get to the car and why we called 911. My husband explained to them and I told them I have history of fainting triggered by pain and vasovegal. They took me back to the ER and asked to enter my name in the machine and the lady said she is already there. The guy asked my husband why did you call 911 and he said she couldn’t seat because of pain and we went to the car for her to lay down. The guy without taking my vital signs or asking me for my medical history and my current situation said you are going to have to wait again and seat in the ER. My husband said she can’t seat she is in a lot of pain and he said if you don’t want to help her, I will take her to another hospital and the guy said take her to another hospital and leave. They didn’t not even take my vitals. I was able to hear everything but I couldn’t raise my head and see anybody because I was in so much pain and I was having a fainting episode from my vasovagal that I was afraid to look up. We left and on the way to Simi Hospital I started to get pale and we stopped at the gas station and called 911 again. The paramedics came and said didn’t you guys just called? Why did you leave Los Robles and we explained what happened and they said in this case let me take you to Simi Valley hospital. We went there and they told me I had kidney stones and this was not related to the surgery. They gave me meds and now that I am at home and feeling better, my husband is explaining how the guys at your emergency room were raising their hand and telling my husband get out of here This is clearly an EMTALA violation and I will be reporting this to the appropriate authorities. In mean time I called the charge nurse at Los Robles and she transferred me to Erica Rosa director of the emergency room and her voicemail said she was out of office until next week. I called the charge nurse and left a message. I definitely hope someone will follow up on this to prevent any deaths until I report and start a formal investigation!"
"I had several heart procedures at Los Robles. The care was outstanding and the staff compassionate. Every bit of the procedure was explained in detail. I would highly recommend Los Robles; it's a first-class Medical Center. PS: The procedures were successful. I am walking several miles a day and lifting light weights. I am 87 years old."
"I was brought into Los Robles late Sunday evening by ambulance for a possible code sepsis (thankfully it wasn't that). But from the moment I got there I was treated with kindness, care, and empathy. I was in some of the worst pain I've ever been in in my life. From the time I was in the ER, to the time I left, I was cared for amazingly. I unfortunately don't remember my ER doctor's and nurse's names, but thank you. I was admitted to the hospital for close to 3 days after that, up on the second floor. My entire care team, Dr. Bishop, Andrea, Cindy, Gina, and the other nurses who assisted me (I'm sorry for not remembering your names) were the best. I just wanted to say thank you for all that you did for me. This was my first time with a stay in the hospital and I'm glad it was Los Robles. Also, I gotta tell everyone, the food is amazing even if I couldn't eat much!"
