"We recently stayed at Wheelers Gorge, camp site 6. When we arrived we were greeted by the hosts Bob, Becky and Emily. They informed us of camp ground rules, which was mainly for loud noise after 10pm and then directed us to our site. Throughout our multi day stay, we noticed them patrolling and clean the campground which accounted for the pristine condition. Even let our girls have a frisbee to play with and let us know the cool sites to check out. Around the time we were there it was almost Halloween and they had beautiful lights lighting up the very cozy host area. They let us know to come back down later in the night and they’ll keep the lights on so the girls could see the display, which was very nice of them. Can’t forget Murphy and Koa! The sweetest dog and cat, who our girls absolutely loved playing with. The creek was running and we got to see a beautiful place that we’ll no doubt be returning to. We can’t say enough good things about the hosts and the great time we had. They treated us like friends and by the time we left it felt like we were family. Brandon & Kayla"
"This campground is amazing, thanks to the camphost's Becky and Bob. The campground is safe, quiet during quiet hours (they actually enforce it), and clean. They have done a phenomenal job up-keeping this place and taking care of the campers. When our car broke down, Becky and Bob took care of us and helped us call for help. So thankful for them and will come back again and again!"
"The camp hosts were amazing! They knew I was sleeping in my car so they took me to a flat campground right next to the river with a perfect spot for my hammock away from other campers. I felt super safe as a solo female camper as well. They definitely were accommodating and understanding, but also good about enforcing camp rules. Also the campground in general is really lovely! 10/10 would camp there again!"
"This past Sunday I stayed here to spend the night and celebrate the birthday of a dear friend in nature! What a gift! This place is magnificent. We were next to a water creek and that was so beautiful! A perfect space with a close by bathroom, a picnic table. A cooking fireplace. Another stone fireplace closer to the water. It was so magical waking up here and being in the healing presence of the trees, the earth, and the water. I highly recommend this place and know I will be back very soon! Thank you to the ladies that so kindly guided us into our spot and so thoughtfully care for this land! Thank you! :)"
"Great campsite. Dog friendly, dogs must be on leash at all times. It was a hot labor day weekend, but thankfully the creek was right there and provided much needed cooling down and shade. Dogs loved the creek. We walked slightly down stream away from the campground to let the dogs loose so they could really enjoy it. We were at site #71. Plenty of shade, close to the bathroom and the campground exit. The only negative is because we were close to the main road, it was noisy at times, especially when cars came whizzing by at night. But no fault of the campground. Overall a good experience."
