Holiday Inn Express & Suites Carpinteria, an IHG Hotel

"Really loved our stay and I’m so grateful I didn’t listen to the negative reviews. Upon checking in, I asked about the noise concerns and an amazing gentleman at the front desk helped secure us a room that didn’t have as much traffic noise. I used white noise at night and had no issues sleeping and never once heard those in the adjoining rooms. I also used the fitness room every day and was grateful for the cardio and weights options. The yoga mats should be replaced but that’s a minor concern. I also found the front desk staff and the breakfast staff were incredibly kind and helpful. I would definitely stay here again! Highly recommend."

"Pros - Clean. Good service. Decent breakfast. Cheap base for Santa Barbara, only 15 minutes away. Cons - Noisy. We could hear everything our neighbors were doing, watching TV, speaking, laughing, using the bathroom. In addition, you can hear the freeway rather loudly especially if you’re on the wrong side of the building. Building is on the older side, the fixtures could use some updating."

"Quiet and peaceful!!! If your’e looking for a place to stay while exploring the area, I would recommend this hotel. Carpinteria is a beautiful sleepy beach town right off the highway and this is only a few minutes away to Santa Barbara and probably an hour to Solvang and like what I mentioned, if you want to have a quiet rest, this would be a good place. There is plaza with some restaurants outside the hotel and there are more restaurants heading to the beach. I didn’t use the gym nor the pool so I cannot comment on those, the breakfast has a good variety of what to expect and although nothing stood out, they’re good nevertheless and filling. I got two connecting rooms which was great for my family and they’re clean, spacious and have microwave and fridge but we didn’t use them because we mostly dined in restaurants, but it’s still good to have them."

"I would like to say two things that they could improve on. One, there was a lot of dust on the metal of the lamps. Second, there was a lot of noise because of the room being close to the exit. Everything else was amazing. I like the fact that in the shower, you have shampoo, conditioner, and lotion. They even give you a small bag with two cotton balls, two q tips, and finer for your fingernails, which I thought was a very unique touch. The breakfast was good as always which is included free of charge."

"Stayed here years ago and loved it. The location is great; close proximity to restaurants and beach: But this time the hotel was a big disappointment. Room was dark and dingy and not well cleaned. Food at continental breakfast was awful, especially the sausage patty, which I couldn't even finish. Staff was competent but not friendly or welcoming."
