"I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Garden Street Inn in downtown San Luis Obispo, and it was truly a delightful experience. The uniquely decorated rooms, boasting French country-inspired decor, added a charming touch to my stay. One of the highlights was the delightful complimentary breakfast. However, it's important to note that there is no elevator in the hotel. The central location of the hotel made it convenient for exploration. It's worth mentioning that parking options include either on-street parking with a 2-hour maximum stay or nearby parking facilities, available at $15 per night. If you're looking for a boutique hotel with character, despite the absence of an elevator, this is a highly recommended choice!"
"Located right off downtown SLO, this is a quaint little hotel that's extremely charming, and very comfortable. Our one complaint was that the room did not have a fridge available. We are definitely planning on staying here again."
"Great location in downtown SLO. We stayed for Christmas Eve/day activities and is only few blocks from the park with all the lights and restaurants/bars. We stayed at the Valley of the moon. Nice quaint room with a bathtub shower. Very clean. The only note is that this is a converted old house into hotel rooms, so you can hear other guests. Not sure if it’s the walls or the cracks in between the doors but you can hear neighbors open/closing doors and somewhat talking. Front desk/receptionist was very kind and friendly. Also, stayed for the breakfast in the morning. Pitchered orange juice and they made fresh apple waffles with cinnamon butter."
"Neat old place. Great location. Room was unique (tiny bathroom sink in the bedroom!) Keep in mind you’re sharing a house so not a lot of noise control. Lots of character. Breakfast was different but tasty (sautéed potatoes and carrots with poached eggs). Stay for the location and unique experience."
"We loved this place! Its location is super. So walkable. My 8 year old son and I were doing a little train trip getaway adventure and stayed here. We took the train up from San Diego and felt very safe walking to the train station....and convenient to everything. We had a blast in the area....going to morro bay by bus to see baby otters, eating pastries right around the corner, visiting the mission...my son making leaf boats in the creek park in the center of town, going to walk downtown and have pizza. We both enjoyed bubble baths in the tub. Very quiet. Such nice hosts! They even packed a breakfast to go as our train left early in the morning. This would definitely be where I book if I were to do the trip again."
