"Was turned away by an impolite nurse because my walk-in was “inconvenient” since their lunch was coming up. Returned after their lunch period and was told I would have to wait a long time due to a high volume of appointments. Myself and two other patients waited for 30 minutes without any staff assistance. Ended up waiting a full hour. Phlebotomist then bruised me while drawing blood. They seem stressed and understaffed, SOS"

"Worst experience I have ever had. I went in for one vile of blood to be tested for vitamin D and a week later I still don't have my results. I called my doctor's office to see if they had the results and they don't either. They also said that for the bloodwork to be complete it shouldn't take no more than 2-3 days, but here I am now entering my second week with no results. In addition, I can't get a hold of a representative within the office to even discuss what is going on. I've been on the phone listening to this monotone repetitive voice for the past 15 minutes. I've pressed every button there is to contact someone in the office and each time this man's voice coming back to tell me what to do, and then he repeats his entire lengthy speech. When I hit the number to speak with someone the phone says to me "This line is unavailable". Overall, don't come here. Results are late and you won't be able to contact anyone if something is going wrong."

"Friendly, fast, on time. Only issue is this location is hard to find. It’s unit no. nine but when you get to unit eight there are no more stores. This should really be labeled unit number one because it is the first business. It’s easy to miss when you’re driving on the street because you’re focused on all the stores that are accessible in a small parking lot. They don’t answer their phone, so you can end up driving around a while until you see a small sign pointing you to the location, But the first sign makes it look like it’s inside the UPS store and the clerk there had no idea what I was talking about when I asked him if he knew where the location was."

"I went to my appointment at 5360B Hollister Avenue Ste B, Goleta, CA 93111 . When I arrived at my 10:30 am appointment there was a notice that the office is closed and I was told go to the Santa Barbara location at 3905 State St Ste 9, Santa Barbara, CA 93105. When I got there the staff person said that the Goleta location has been closed for a long time. My code didn't work at the POS and the staff person was rude and when I asked her why the ordering system allowed me to book a reservation at a closed location, she said "I can't work with this person" to another staff person. I then checked in and received a text to come back in. I was forced to stay in the office with several people and we were not able to maintain the mandatory 6 feet distancing so I was forced to leave as I did not want to be in a enclosed office with other patients that may have the virus. Update: I rescheduled a week later at 8:30 am on a Wednesday and there was no one there and it went very smoothly."

"This is not a criticism of Quest employees or the lab, but rather the high tech appointment/reception functions. It is a work in progress and a sign of the times. Like self check out in stores. Especially in California, businesses have to innovate, rather than employ. It's a brilliant way to save consumers money by bypassing insurance, government, excess employees, and HC providers, but you're on your own. Hence, no receptionist, no people answer the phone. I signed up and paid for a lab test on line. $199 for Male. I have Medicare, but it's such a hassle, it's easier to pay out of pocket and order tests doctor would call for, but that's another story/sign of the times. I made an appointment on line. A little cumbersome at first, but once through it, it will be easier. No receptionist (talk to the chair), but a touch screen at the office window. That worked pretty well too.. Then a screen in the room let me know my position in line and wait time. Cool, but that's where it all went downhill. This is the note I sent to Quest asking for a refund: I made an appointment and arrived an hour early. I signed in and my name appeared #3 in in line with 5 minute wait. I waited about 25 minutes while I watched my appointment move between 8 and 2 minutes several times. Someone was put ahead of my appointment at least once. I finally left and came back at the scheduled time 12:15. My name was gone from wait list and I was set back to walk in status. I had to resubmit information. At that, my name did not show up on the wait list, so I left. At this point I wish to cancel my blood test and receive a refund of $199. Thank you, SC UPDATE: apparently they don't debit your card until after the lab work is done. I overreacted, so must say except for the appointment fiasco, this system is OK."
