4 Star Theater

"5 stars for the 4 star! A great place for viewing films! We didn't try the food as we just ate before going there but it was nice to have a beer with the movie, as they have a decent selection of beers to choose from."

"The Tunnel Records annex at the four star is not to be missed. Curated jazz, soul, rock, blues, funk, etc! Only the good stuff. Fair prices and often hard to find gems"

"A fantastic place and an irreplaceable part of the neighborhood and the city. You can see a movie in a 100+ year old theater while getting a beer and some popcorn from the wonderful staff, browse some records at Tunnel Records (located in the theater lobby) and see something cool like an old classic movie, your favorite 80-90's anime, your favorite Tarantino or Coen brothers film, or a first-run movie that's getting sold out everywhere else. Very good screen and sound quality here, too. Take a picture of the classic marquee while you're there."

"The screen is so amazing, and with it being so tall... THIS IS HOW 4:3 FILMS WERE MEANT TO BE SEEN! There's no shortage of cinematic treats every month, the challenge is probably your personal schedule not letting you see them all! A local treasure, as always. Definitely an amazing renovation, I prefer the new 4 Star to the Balboa nowadays."

"Very neat and clean theater. Loved the art hanging in the lobby/gallery. Nice craft beer selection. I didn't stay for a movie because I was pressed for time, but will be back. Great place to stop in for a bite to eat and a drink even if you do not have time for a movie."
