Andiamo Italian Ristorante - Eagan

"Andiamo easily made its way into my top 3 favorite Italian restaurants. Choosing one dish was challenging with so many others sounding so wonderful. We ordered the stuffed mushrooms, chicken cardinale, manicotti, meatballs, cannolis, and spumoni. Everything was delicious! The portion sizes were large and made for excellent leftovers. My only complaint was that the takeaway containers, while eco friendly, absorbed much of the moisture of our food and leaked through the bottoms of the containers. I would have also loved to see cacio e pepe on the menu."

"Overall it was a good experience and we'll probably be back. We had reservations and were greeted and seated promptly. The waitstaff and service staff were courteous, prompt, efficient and professional. The atmosphere was quiet to start, but then as it got closer to the dinner hour, was vibrant. The Happy Hour specials are a good value. The wine pours were standard; not generous but not stingy either. We started with the Calamari; the standard of appetizers. The portion was more than enough for two. But a little greasy. Not objectionable though. We ordered a Margarita pizza which unfortunately was way undercooked. If you order a pizza, ask for it to be well done. Although it tasted fine, it was not enjoyable. The sauce was a bit acidic and the mozzarella was the processed kind you get from Sam's Club or Costco. The crust wasn't house-made so keep that in mind too. Also, the pizza was overrun with basil. The pizza was the only reason for the 4 Stars and not 5 for food. We also ordered the Eggplant parmigiana because it is not standard fare. If you get this right; everything else will be OK. They got it right. Light, crispy and flavorful, the way I like it. Be aware though, the side order of spaghetti was plentiful and could make a nice meal for a small child. As a side note, the table next to us ordered an item off-menu. They were accommodated and were very pleased with their selection. All in all it was a good evening and we will return in the future."

"Most of the food that we had was outstanding, particularly the prosciutto, pear, and Gorgonzola pizza. I really liked the fact that their appetizers were half off between 3 and 6 PM. Another highlight for me was their short ribs. I got them with fettuccine with white sauce and they were excellent. I will say that I did not care for the soup with chicken and spinach in it though; it was far too watery for my taste. A couple of the desserts that we had were just OK, but nothing special. Same for the lasagna. The service, though, was really good. Outside, the place does not look like much, and it is kind of hidden away in a little mall, but I would definitely come back. Mostly because the food is so good, and the prices are very reasonable, considering the food quality."
