"This place has been one of my favorites for years. I love grabbing samosas between classes or errands but they do offer indoor/outdoor seating as well and it’s fun to people-watch on State Street while you eat. The food is incredible and I always end up getting a golden tea as well."
"Unpretentious hole in the wall with incredible food that sweeps your tastebuds away to the Himalayas. Momos are a must. Lamb sikar is sure to be a crowd pleaser. Family style meal was perfect for three people. Spices are very well blended, complicating the dishes without being over powering."
"We ALWAYS make our way to this amazing Nepalese food when were in Madison!! The family that owns this business & the staff are always very kind & thoughtful! We LOVE the food! Everything is made from scratch! We always order the Dal , the Roti , the Momocha and the Samosas!! They have specials everyday. Today we had the Farsi (butternut squash , onion & peas ) and the Saag ( spinach , black-eyed peas , potato ) and both dishes are out of this world!! We are addicted to their food!!"
"Really great spot for authentic Nepalese food. Easily walkable spot on State Street near plenty of parking. Located in a historic building, with an interior that hasn’t changed a bit in decades. The space is well used with tables shoved in every possible spot and bathrooms haphazardly built into the dining room. All that said, the experience is wonderful. The staff are friendly, attentive, and fast. Prices are fair and the menu has great options. Most of the food is not spicy, catering to the midwestern palate. The menu is mostly a la carte. There are daily Takaris, which are basically vegetable curries. The dal is a rotating soup. I opted for rice, cauliflower takari, and dal. The takari was delicious. It looks simple but packs a ton of flavor. The dal is wonderful, and is the kind of soup that seems like it could cure any illness. I also tried a bite of the other takari of the day and some of the momo. Everything rocked."
"While walking down State Street, came across this place. As the outside seating area was busy we decided to give it a try. I am not sure if all the dishes were authentic but they did have flavor. However, we felt that both the veggie dishes tasted somewhat similar. The dishes were definitely fresh. Enjoyed the soup the most. If you like spicy, try their hot sauce, it was fantastic. It is hot so be careful. Our server was attentive and she was very friendly. The food was served without any delays. Overall experience was average."
