"Had my oil changed and tires rotated before a 200+ mile drive, no problems and the service was done within an hour. They supplied a desk to work at and drinks while I waited. Both the gentlemen behind the desk were pleasant to work with and I had a nice conversation about cologne with Zach. Great experience overall."
"Had an appointment, and was given a time window of when to expect my vehicle to be finished. I waited an hour past that, then called, only to find out they hadn’t touched my vehicle yet. So they had it a full day, which meant I was at home, unable to go about my business, and they didn’t even look at it. When I bought it in, I explained my need to get my vehicle at the time that they had estimated. I was assured the completion of the issue, within the time window given to me. To find out they hadn’t even touched it, ended my relationship with Huron. Am now going about a mile away, for a lot less money."
"We’ve been taking our vehicles to Huron on Velp for over 10 years as we work on maintaining them for a long ownership lifecycle. Josh and Dion and the mechanics are always up front with us on pending repairs and maintenance for our vehicles (2011 Toyota 4 Runner and 2014 Ford King Ranch). They explain our answers to our questions. I believe our work with them has given us confidence to take many trips and travel without any issues. Great service, easy scheduling, consistent and reliable."
"NEGATIVE STARS!! The positive reviews have to be fake because my experience was ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE!! I definitely would NOT recommend this place. When I made an appointment I told them that my vehicle would occasionally overheat on the interstate and when I turned the heater I could smell something burning. Appointment day heater not smelling as bad (I changed cabin air filter which seems to have helped some). Proceeded to tell 2 employees including Service Manager my vehicles history since I have owned it. Then mechanic takes it out for test drive (supposedly onto interstate) with heat on (2 clicks - not nearly high enough for testing purposes) and states it didn't overheat on him so they WILL NOT look at ANYTHING including the heater. I have never heard a mechanic say that in the 30+ YEARS. So I guess I am supposed to wait until my vehicle completely dies or blows up then they will be glad to repair it, but of course by then the repair bill will be MUCH MUCH HIGHER. Because vehicle only overheats occasionally shouldn't mean that they give up on looking for the reason that it does overheat. I am THANKFUL I didn't give them a penny of my money. Then after I walked out employee (obese dude) ran out the door to tell me that littering is illegal. I accidentally dropped a napkin I had in my hand. What a D..K!! Yes I was beyond angry when I left but I didn't litter and sure don't appreciate him saying I did. AFTER HURON replied to my review I called Service Manager, Deon, who stated "he would NOT do anything different". Meaning they would NOT try to find out why vehicle is overheating on the interstate ONLY and why heater smells like something is burning. He said if they cannot VERIFY the vehicle is overheating (basically calling me liar) and they didn't smell anything (basically I IMAGINING the smell) they won't try to diagnosis the issues. What mechanic IGNORES vehicle issues AND IGNORES a customer complaints??? He said they checked the antifreeze levels and they were fine. I'm NOT a mechanic and even I know that DOES NOT mean anything. There are thousands of articles and videos online that agree with ME. It could be the thermostat, fan, clogged/bad radiator, vacuum leakage, clogged hoses, drive belts, water pump (probably not since it's not leaking), etc. But do they care to look at any of those things? NO!! Deon said he doesn't want to waste my money. WHAT?? Like a BLOWN ENGINE wouldn't cost me money. Like I said previously they DO NOT want to find the issues BEFOREHAND they want to wait until vehicle DIES or BLOWS UP. I wouldn't go to them even for an oil change or even if they offered me free diagnostic testing. There are COMPETENT mechanics elsewhere and hopefully I can find one before it is TOO LATE. Thanks for NOTHING Huron!!!!!!!!!"
"I should've known better after a different vehicle I took to Huron had 2 front bearing hub assemblys fail that were installed by Huron on Velp. I took it in for the 3rd time and was told "that the noise/problem has to get worse before we can diagnose it." Are you kidding me? Now to my current issue, brought my vehicle in for a normal realignment. No issues stated after I paid, the truck wasn't badly out of line, they adjusted it no problem, right? A day later I hear two different clicking/vibrating sounds coming from the front right wheel. I take it back to Huron and they find a pinched 4x4 vacuum line that isn't working properly. I've never heard this sound before, it suddenly happened after the realignment. I have them fix this line, and the problem/noise still isn't fixed, now they need to dig deeper and figure out if it's a wheel bearing kit, integrated hub kit, etc, costing up to$1,800. I'm pretty handy and do most of my own maintenance but this is fishy to me, especially with my previous issues with two failed hub installs. I'm never going back to Huron. Edit* I will say after contacting Huron about this situation they did address my concerns and were very helpful in righting the situation. Great customer service after my experience. Thank you to the Huron team."
