"Don't expect them to be open at their advertised times. They will close early and won't even answer the phone during their advertised hours - even well before closing time. I could understand this if they were a small family business, but when people travel there to get something before closing only to find the doors locked even though there's more than enough time to shop, checkout, and be out the door before their posted closing, it's really bad business."

"Had a very bad experience trying to return and purchase some lumber. One employee was very rude about not having a receipt, which was on file at the store as I have an account. After I asked the employee if he wanted me to go get the receipt he declined but continued to give me a hard time. Being from the area and owning small businesses myself, shopping local is very important. After this unfortunate experience I will be driving to Madison for all of my purchases."

"The big stores in Madison said it would take them 30 to 90 days to get us a tub. All American got us one in two days!"

"Went in for a little paint for my exterior door. The man that helped me was very nice, had my paint mixed in no time and I was on my way. The checkout assistant was also courteous and efficient. Pleasant shopping experience."

"Bought electrical lighting. Got defective unit and didn't have receipt. Absolutely no help. Told them I used credit card and could track. They said only good for 60 days. Would never buy there again . Called the corporate office. Said they would call me back on my issues. Been 3 weeks never called me back. Left emails no answer. Says on the article I bought, " satisfaction guaranteed or they will replace" the sales clerk said read your invoice you only have 60 days regardless of the packaging promise. You can't get any response from corporate and the location seemed happy to deny. My product WAS defective out of the box. Specifically made in China for them, garbage product no support or even a call back. At least the rude employee gave a response. Worst customer service I have experienced in many years. Buyer BEWARE!"
