"So I have to say I had a very positive experience here. I read reviews AFTER my visit and had to write this review. Please keep in mind that most of these reviews are ER related and no one likes the ER-ever. Stress is high and Timing is everything. Typically kids are not breaking their arms at 2am. I brought my 2 year old in at 2am for extreme flu symptoms and he was treated immediately. His every need and want was taken care right away. Everyone we crossed paths with was kind, friendly and empathetic. The dr (although young and distractingly handsome) was knowledgeable, helpful and caring. I was in and out in 2 hours. This is a hospital with lots of protocols not a drs visit. 2 hours in and out of the ER on a slow night is very good. Many of these negative reviews are unwarranted and in the event my child needs immediate medical help I would not hesitate to bring him here again."
"The nurses and doctors were phenomenal, especially our nurse Darryl Williams. He went above and beyond to make a stressful stay, less stressful. Most of all he was kind. As for the admissions department I cannot say the same. VIVIAN MCGEE who works in “In patients admissions” was rude. I couldn’t believe after going through what I did with my daughter I had to deal with someone who has absolutely no bedside manner. VIVIAN walks in and in a very rude tone says “are you the mother?” I responded “yes” with what I am sure was a confused look on my face. VIVIAN proceeded to accuse me of not being in the room when her and “apparently” two other staff members came by to obtain information. I told her I never left and she still accused me of leaving. She continued to make rude comments and snide remarks such as “your signatures don’t look the same” and “I didn’t tell you to sign yet”. Since she continued to speak to me this way I asked for her name and she laughed and said “I told you my name when I first got here” I responded saying, “I have a lot going on with my daughter right now and the last thing I am trying to remember is your name. So either you can give it yo me, or I’ll get it from your supervisor”. She responded with “my name is ‘V’”. I was beyond furious as this point and just wanted her to leave so I could be with my daughter. I completed all required forms and VIVIAN finally left the room. Thankfully Darryl Williams was made aware of the situation as were other support staff. Darryl apologized so many times on behalf of the hospital due to the behavior of VIVIAN MCGEE from the admissions department. When Darryl heard that I was accused of not being in the room he was shocked as he knows I NEVER left the room. To all the parents that are going through a tragic experience with their children, I hope none of you have to deal with VIVIAN in the future. I’m"
"My son experienced a lot of pain. We waited for 30 minutes in the lobby and over an hour in the room before we could see anyone. Throughout this time, my son was in pain and vomiting, and it seemed like they didn't care. I believe it's not the fault of the nurses or doctors but rather the pressure the hospital puts on them by not hiring enough staff. It appears they prioritize charging fees over adequate staffing, putting undue pressure on healthcare professionals."
"Professionals! Great facility. Professional employees. Excellent scenery and child oriented environment! My child was Handeld with Care."
"I was a bit worried after reading reviews, and waiting for my teen to be seen. The bullet proof reception was odd, though you walk in first speaking to a nurse, then being taken for vitals. They are thorough, taking full medical background and medication history. After that, they triage in order. On our Monday night, we maybe waited an hour after vitals were done. My teen has super sensitive veins, and they nailed it on the first try! Before that, the nurse listened to her vein concerns and worked a plan with heat packs for better success - with over half a dozen ER visits, we had t seen this before. The care team also figured out a cocktail to help reduce her pain- pain fixe other hospitals and two urgent cares couldn’t reduce at all. Lastly, they didn’t presume her symptoms were of her chronic conditions. They considered them, but opted for further testing that led to a diagnosis. When in San Diego, I would return to Rady’s in a heartbeat."
