Surf City Liquor 327 11th Street, Huntington Beach, CA 92648

"I went into this liquor store as I have many times B4 . However, this time I went in and purchased 2 pks of cigarettes . And about 10mins later I received a text notification . And it said thank you for your 37.89 purchase from Surf City Liquor at 11th Street in HB. So I immediately called 411 to get their phone number. Which turned out to be a wrong number and it offered no new number. Other then this incident I have never experienced any kind of bad service. They are always kind and friendly. But their prices are rather high and on certain items , a little shady on some things . Though I'm sure it's probably to make up for the thriving brats from 12th Street on their E bikes . Love the dog , he's the most sincere human behind the counter. All in all it is convenient bcz it's local . Though I do think I'll be going over to 7-11 on 8th it's 2 streets East but the walk will do me good . Plus not having to worry about scandalous over charging . Just food for thought , I guess I'll just keep a mental note and push forward on the matter . But they are a neighborhood business why wouldn't they have to have a listed number available ? Makes no sense to me , does it to you ?"

"Place is a complete rip off. Charges double for random item. Doesn't label them. Crooks. 2 dollar drinks rung up and charged for 5 dollars each. Scam"

"Decent selection of kraft brews and wine available here. Good due to proximity to where we were staying, but it is liquor store prices. Found same and more economical prices at grocery store. Will drop by next time I need beer and not able to drive to the grocery store."

"One star because my credit card info was stolen by the cashier at this store. I’m very confident that it happened here for a few reasons. I live in Nevada, visited HB on the 28th and used my card only at this store, paid cash everywhere else I went in CA. Fraudulent charges started up on the 29th all over LA. The last time I had used my card before this started was in Reno. I remember as I was checking out the cashier took my card from my hand to run it at the register rather than having me use the credit card terminal at the counter. Reviewing my charges with my bank after they flagged the fraudulent charges we realized I never even got charged for the beer I bought there, though charges I made in Reno after returning from the trip did show up. I don’t have perfect proof but I’m pretty confident the cashier stole my card. There was no other opportunity for my card to have been scanned in LA and all of the other recent use was 9 hours away in Reno. If you do shop here be alert, maybe pay cash."
