Holiday Inn Express & Suites Mountain View Silicon Valley, an IHG Hotel

"My stay at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Mountain View Silicon Valley was absolutely fantastic! "Requested a two-bed handicap room didn't have any Put us in a room so far back it took 5 minutes to walk with a handicap person. Was really close to the main freeway but inside the hotel you couldn't hear it which was good but very close... No vending machines to buy anything unless you want to go to their store which is overpriced."

"The place provides a comfortable stay. The only issue we had was the absence of a wash basin inside the wash room which is made good inside the spacious room. As an Indian I would have preferred even if a small wash basin was fitted in the wash room. Other than this everything here adds to your comfort."

"As of Nov 2023 Hotel Fairchild (in the process of being rebranded as an IHG Holiday Inn) is pretty good value for silicon valley. Renovations are almost complete so the rooms feel new, but some of the common facilities aren't there yet. As such, I think there's still a construction discount currently built into the price and it will go up, but it was remarkably cheap (USD$130 for some off-peak nights) for an expensive area and generously proportioned and refreshed room. The big thing to consider is the road noise from the 101. Despite obvious efforts to reduce the noise (two sets of windows, both double glazed) I could still hear the constant thrum of the traffic and the occasional hoon or large truck hurtling down the highway. Ask for a room towards the rear of the hotel. I could also hear my neighbors, but I've never been in hotel in the Bay area where that wasn't the case. It's perfectly placed for Google Mountain View or Sunnyvale. Even 20min walking distance from Google's new Bay View campus. Also walking distance to NASA Moffet airfield. Also walkable (half an hour?) to Castro St and downtown MTV. But it *feels* a bit middle of nowhere. There's one mexican supermarket and fast food place around the corner, but not much else going on. Parking felt nice and safe underground. Staff were pleasant and efficient. Bring some light blocking masking tape for all the flashing LED lights on the roof and sink area that you can't turn off (again, another US hotel constant annoyance)! But love the quite effective light blocking blinds."

"This is a very good hotel for the price. Location is excellent. The neighborhood is safe. It is a budget hotel, but the rooms are recently remodeled and clean. The hotel appears to be waiting on permission to fully rebrand as a Holiday Inn Express, and I suspect prices might increase when that happens, given the proximity to Google and other major companies. All of the rooms were newly remodeled to standard Holiday Inn layouts. Currently this is a fantastic value for the price and location."
