"Asian Food Center is one of the oldest Chinese markets in Sacramento. I think almost no Chinese in sacrament have never shopped here for their wide range of Chinese groceries. The store is big, not like supermarket size. But big enough to carry most of the items for the Chinese kitchen. The meats and vegetables here are fresh. I love their Chinese BBQ. The roasted duck, roasted pork, and BBQ pork are my favorites. The cashiers are fast and accurate. I hardly found any errors on my bills. But the store is cash only. No credit card! This is a little inconvenient!"
"After the new store ownership, the roasted ducks became very juicy and good, the vegetable quality Was good without price increase. There were more items, frozen food available. Only one down side was cash only."
"Everything is fresh and delicious. It's Asian fruits and vegetables at their best. You can also get a hot chicken and rice dinner or a hot duck dinner, too. There is quite a selection of take out meals there, as well. They also havecquite a selection of dry goods, deserts, teas, and coffees."
"This place is one of the more old school Asian supermarkets. Items are placed randomly throughout the store. They do have several live wells for seafood. There's a hot food station that has decent roasted duck and barbecue pork."
"Excellent prices on fresh meat and seafood. The best baked BBQ Pork Baos in Sacramento. Communication is pretty easy when it comes to food, even with little English being spoken. The staff is old school and quiet so many people mistake this for being rude or conceited but it's really not. The folks there are respectful and kind. If you need help it will come! I've never felt unwelcome or uncomfortable here! They carry live fish and crustaceans, the pork butt is gorgeous. I made char siu with it and it was better than all the others I've tasted in Sacramento. They have hot foods at nice prices. You can find cookware, frozen Asian convenience foods/snacks like Siu Mai, dumplings, and Baos. There are sauces/spices/marinades of all kinds, most of which are not carried by major grocers or even advertised and unless you're familiar with Asian foods, you'd be suprised to see them. They have a small but power packed produce section with real pricing. Fancy stores can sell exotic Asian pears for 4.99 a pound while AFC prices them around 1.99 a pound. The produce always looks fresh and shows that they move what they bring in. Try the store out and you'll find something life changing!"
