"Anesthesiologist is fine, BILLING IS A NIGHTMARE. I won't use Fort Sanders Regional Medical Center for future surgeries since they endorse this company. I've been informed I can REQUEST to know who a hospital uses for anesthesia. If it's American Anesthesiologist I'll continue to look elsewhere. Procedure was fine. Billing a nightmare. I was informed that their computers only process payments if they are received 4 days before or up to 4 days after the bill date. If not received during that time, you monthly payment posts to the previous month, your monthly installment "privilege" is cancelled as they deem you late pay and they'll turn you over to collections. I was able to prevent that (I think), but time will tell. Much un-needed stress and aggravation. Mostly due to their changing to a new billing company which changed my due date and I was unaware of it. I was told they texted me (I think it was my house number) and emailed me. That's all they're required to do. I admit I don't open all emails. I've been scammed before. More details than that, but not worth going in to. PATIENT BEWARE!"
"Nice anesthesiologist, but horrible customer service. I was told by one US customer service rep that I was eligible for a 35% discount as a self-pay patient a few weeks ago. I called the billing department on the invoice, and they said nope - there's no such thing. Then, I called back the number on this google listing, and the rep said you're definitely eligible for the 35% discount but the billing department needs to process your discount and payment. We'll connect you. Then, I got connected with another rep in the Philippines and they said, sorry you're not not eligible. It's unconscionable. To add more insult to injury, the billing department sends you an automatic phone survey even if you got so frustrated you hung up for such a long wait!"
"If I could give this billing company NO STARS I would. They billed BCBS 3 times for the same bill and then I paid them twice and I found out they over billed me and they are still trying to get more money from me and they owe ME!! I have called and left messages and I have spoke with someone 3 times and been told they are reviewing it but I still get text messages and bills every 2 weeks. I DO NOT OWE THEM--per BCBS they OWE ME A REFUND!!! I am going to contact my attorney and have him send them a certified letter. This is ridiculous and poor practice. I work in healthcare and am appalled."
"I use them annually because of the facility my Dr uses. Recently got a collection call from MBA Law stating I owed $ from 5 years ago. Since I use them so much I called to question it and was told that yes it was still outstanding. Not sure why it didn't show as outstanding on any other year I was billed so I asked the collection company to prove the debt. A few weeks later I got a letter stating that my account had been placed with them in error and nothing is owed. This exact scenario happened to my wife too. Seems to be a pattern of mistakenly or maliciously placing people in collections. I urge anyone that gets a collection call about this group to challenge the debt and make them prove what you owe."
"01-08-2023, I have been trying for over four weeks now to speak with someone about a billing error with my insurance, I have lost countless hours holding on the phone only to be cut off, when you choose the option for a call back they never call you back. I am a small business owner and I have lost money by trying to reach someone with American Anesthesiology and sitting on hold I have logged over four hours of time sitting and waiting and all to give them my money, I promise from now on if I need a procedure and these guys are the anesthesia company I WILL NOT USE them even if it means having to choose another doctor. All I am trying to do is get the insurance issue straightened out were I have two health insurances so I can pay them to keep my credit clean. I guess next I will have to pay my attorney $350 to send them a letter for a bill that I should not have received since I have two insurances. I will provide updates as this unfolds."
