Coyote Lake-Harvey Bear Ranch County Park

"I went here camping , and it was a very nice campsite. We had a campsite closest to the water, which was down a hill. During different times of the year, the water recedes or comes up. Winter is usually when it is up. The campsite was kind of wet, and I got my shoes wet and dirty even though it (probably) didn’t rain. Bathroom was clean, I prefer paper towels instead of a hand dryer which I could hear from my campsite."

"Probably this is the best time to visit the park. It was green everywhere. Somewhat like New Zealand or Sweden. Because it was raining a few days ago. The trail was very muddy. But still, the view was great."

"I can't express just how much I adore this park; it's easily my favorite in the entire Bay Area. The vastness of this place is awe-inspiring, and it's brimming with an abundance of stunning vistas. As for wildlife sightings, I've had some remarkable encounters. From playful turkeys to elusive wild pigs, even a rather startled Rattle Snake (don't worry, we kept our distance!), a coyote that seemed to be exploring its own adventures, graceful deer, and a bobcat that simply left me in awe. I've hiked on nearly every trail this park has to offer, and I just can't seem to get enough of it. It's one of those places where you want to return time and time again. The park's diverse beauty and its resident wildlife create an irresistible pull that makes every visit a unique and memorable experience. If you're a nature enthusiast, this park is an absolute must-visit!"

"Nice campground with all basic facilities. They have an RV campsite with showers too. Trails for all trail users. You will find wide and levelled trails as well as steep single track. Lots of wildlife. Some impressive vistas from the hilltops. Coyote Lake is nice and this year is full of water. Boating is very popular. Newly paved road to the ramp. A very nice park just minutes from Gilroy and CA-101."

"Beautiful place, pleasant and amazing night view for star gazing. Felt close to the wild & scenic beauty. Need to book camping spot $34/tent & only 2 cars/spot is allowed. Make sure to reach the spot before sunset as the route is curvy and pitch dark and you will definitely find lot of deer on the way.. Make sure to get a sturdy tent, lighter (they will provide a box with wood & a catalyst that promotes combustion), water bottles, sleeping pad and a sleeping bag, lanterns, flash lights, jackets to keep you warm. $10 for extra car parking Restrooms are so clean and well maintained. 2 for men & 2 for women. You can find deer, cattle, wild pigs. Need to put the camp fire off at night to prevent accidental wildfire."
