JBQAV is a premier audio/visual institution located at 105 Pioneer Street in Santa Cruz, California. Since 2012, we have been providing top-notch services to the Bay Area and beyond. Our offerings include audio/visual systems, DJ/MC services, karaoke, dance floor & string lighting for a variety of events such as weddings, birthday parties, graduations, corporate events, and more.
Our customer support hours are Monday to Thursday from 8am to 10pm and Friday to Sunday from 8am to 11am. Our rentals and services are available daily from 8am to 11:30pm, and appointments must be booked at least one day in advance with a minimum charge of $299. We also hold a 1 million dollar liability insurance policy to ensure the safety of all on-site contracts.

"Jaron was on time and did great at setting up equipment even though there was a rain storm. He worked with us to make our special day great. He also provided all needed tools to help connecting and Dj'ing our event a breeze."
"This person was hired to perform as a subcontractor at a corporate event. I as the owner of the company that hired him came to the event, as well, as these were established corporate clients of ours, and we wanted to thoroughly evaluate Jarons ability to provide at the same level that we are accustomed to, and demand of all of our subcontractors when performing for us and representing us. I arrived early to make contact with our client and awaited Jaron’s arrival. He arrived later than anticipated, and while wasn’t necessarily a bad thing. It did impact his ability to be able to perform at the scheduled start time, which he did not. This level of unprofessionalism would continue throughout the rest of the event. He was unable to get a firm grasp on his equipment, and the technology required for customers to make karaoke request. The foolishly relied upon an Internet connection provided by the hotel, which is an incredible rookie mistake. This had to be rebooted several times, causing delays and dissatisfaction from the attendees. My corporate client asked me to intervene several times, and I reassured her that he would be able to get things up and running, and I believe believed in his ability to do so. I was proven 100% wrong , there indeed was a storm that occurred that night and at one point the venue briefly lost power but it wasn’t something that would’ve caused the entire event to crash had Jaron been properly prepared. After an extended 45 minutes to an hour timeframe of his inability to provide services, the client insisted that I take over which I did. If I had not attended the event to ensure I had the ability to evaluate his performance, the event would’ve ended as a disaster, and my corporate clients would’ve been extremely disappointed to say the least. I ended up performing for an additional 45 minutes to make up for the time that was lost due to Jaron’s inability to do his job. The poor preparation and horrific lack of professionalism, exhibited caused irreparable damage to our reputation and was an embarrassment in front of our client. When Jaron was confronted with these issues, he initially agreed to refund the fee that he was paid, which would have satisfied the ethical part of the relationship. However, he decided that since he was (according to him) very broke, he had already spent the money that he had been paid and was unable to return it for over a month. Now that that month has passed, indicated to us that we only deserve 60% of a refund because “that’s our policy“ and that we didn’t have a contract. When confronted with this unapproved change in the agreement, he became threatening and has decided to post a negative review on our Google page which we find stunningly immature and inappropriate. We gave this person an opportunity to collaborate with us, and become a part of a larger group up for like minded pros, it has become blatantly clear that his unprofessionalism and lack of ethical conduct precludes any future work being shared with him, and I caution others who may decide to engage his services to be very aware of past performance, childish, tactics, and immature conduct. Jaron, since I know you’re reading this review, my suggestion on you is to remove your negative review from our page or continue to have this review be in place on your page. Your obvious lack of maturity in this situation is indicative of what other people can expect of you. We hired you to do a service and you didn’t do it to our standards. That’s what people leave every review for not for you being upset that someone doesn’t want to continue working with you. Update: You mentioned in your response that you played an additional amount of time it didn’t charge the company for. That is a blatant lie. You were dismissed, fired, and thank you if you were a professional, you wouldn’t require a contract to honor your agreements, or to ensure client satisfaction. So, in fact you were paid… Even though technically, it was theft you got “paid”."
"Jaron was so kind to work with. He came through for my wedding last minute and I truly appreciate that. My guests definitely enjoyed all the music and loved that they were able to request songs. One thing I would recommend is grabbing people's attention first before making an announcement, but other than that he did so good! Always room for improvement. Thank you Jaron!"
"Our wedding was perfect thanks to Jaron. His DJing was incredible. Songs were just what we wanted and requests were accommodated. He provided music the night before at our reception dinner and that was wonderful as well. He was professional and always there to help.
