"Update for May 2023 - the playstructure on the older kid playground has a double slide that has been blocked off with plywood at the top and a cage around one portion at the bottom where the slide has been somewhat disassembled. There doesn't seem to be any work happening to fix this for at least the past week and there are no signs posted or other information I could find as to what is happening or when the slide will be repaired) Kirk park is great - large open field for sports or dogs playing fetch, separate but adjacent playgrounds for small kids and big kids. There are a few fun murals in between the buildings - the one showing many animals is large and fun for asking children to run to one section or another to find an animal. Nice path around the park for walking, as well as two full basketball courts in the back, adjacent to two horseshoe pits. Along the back fence line are huge cacti and some truly impressive redwoods. There is a bookable picnic area as well for parties and 2 bathrooms and water fountains. Most recently, a group of volunteers has added a native plant and pollinator garden across the field from the playgrounds. It is both beautiful and a relatively seamless addition to the park. There are signs and markers with each plant name for those who are curious. Recently the larger of the two parking lots was converted to house city vehicles, so be forewarned that there isn't a lot of lot parking available. However, there is a lot of street parking and parking on adjacent streets"
"This is a good park, parents are attentive and making sure they're older ones aren't stomping all over the little ones and are generally pretty good conversationalists. There are also bathrooms and a huge field with lots of doggos. A good variety of sizes of slides in case your kid is into that."
"Very clean and quiet park. There is lots of open space for kids to bike. No creepy people. The picnic area is one of the best with lots of benches and decent shade. It has two unisex / family restrooms which I always find clean."
"Big playground for all ages of kids bathrooms right next to it clean as well. And a nice shade picnic area all close to each otber n big field to runt in."
"The park doesn't have parking but there is plenty of place on the street. The park doesn't have fences but is great. Lots of grass, a baseball pit and a park divided in two. One side is for young kid, another for older. There is 4 swings for babies, 2 swings of kid."
