"I recently had an appointment with Tamara for a fringe bang cut, and I must say, the transformation was remarkable. Her assistant provided thorough washing and conditioning services, and Tamara skillfully installed my weave. Her professionalism and kindness were evident throughout the session, leaving me thoroughly impressed. I look forward to returning and continuing to support her business, which I'm proud to endorse as a supporter of Black-owned enterprises!!!"
"If you are a black woman who wants to give their natural hair some TLC and have a peaceful self-care day, please go somewhere else in LA. For starters, I booked my appointment the day before at 4:00am and my appointment was at 4:00pm the next day. This is my first time going to this salon. I paid a $25 deposit online for a silk press with clip ins for $175. The service online stated: "includes wash, hydration treatment, blow dry, press cut and style. extensions not included". Tamara was the stylist doing my hair for this service. In my opinion, her demeanor was unwelcoming as a first time client. However, her assistants were more friendly than she was. Her assistants did my wash, conditioning under the dryer and blow dry in a timely manner. I did not realize that in my deposit confirmation email from 4:00am stated "cash only for the remaining balance" until I was at the salon and under the dryer. Tamara was informed of this and accepted payment for the clip-ins via card but refused payment for the rest of the service of the silk press in cash. This was very inconsiderate, unprofessional, petty and not reasonable....my issue is: what is the issue with accepting a payment for clip-ins via card and not accepting a payment for the REST OF THE SERVICE via card? It did not make sense at all. And she insisted at 7:00PM to leave the salon after finishing my hair to go to the ATM. As a black woman, she lacks consideration and refused to accept a card payment for the silk press as a one time courtesy as a new client AFTER ACCEPTING A CARD PAYMENT FOR THE CLIPINS! She obviously did not care about my wellbeing to be out at an ATM IN CULVER CITY at night. She requested to hold on to my driver's license or cellphone when I left to get cash from the ATM. She passively disrespected me with the preconceived notion that I would not return back for my remaining balance by asking that request for my driver's license or cellphone. I am a travel registered nurse and I have to much to lose to play games, hunny! Moreover, when I returned back with the full balance of cash remaining and a $5 tip (she was lucky that she got the tip but truly did not deserve it)....she was petty enough to withhold TWO REMAINING CLIP INS that should of been in my hair the MOMENT my hair was completed and finished before leaving the salon for the remaining balance at the ATM and NOT afterwards. After she received payment, she was slightly nicer asking random questions about my life. Secondly, the trim is not included and it is an additional $25. In my years of getting a silk press, a $175 silk press has ALWAYS included a trim. I have been recommended to go to this salon by two friends and I have never went to a black salon for a self-care day feeling disrespected as a black woman. THE CUSTOMER WAS THE WORST I HAVE EVER EXPERIENCED. Nonetheless, my silk press clip-ins came out beautiful and natural as I wanted but I would of loved to have a better experience than I did. So please save yourself the trauma that I experienced. I would expect this type of energy from a non-black salon but to experience it from a BLACK salon, this was truly disturbing and heartbreaking especially during black history month! Please do better for future clients!"
"I come from San Francisco to get my hair done here. I've been coming for a few months now to trial for my wedding and I absolutely love this salon and the team. They are very friendly, professional and do great hair! I always feel relaxed and taken care of when I visit. I am happy I found this salon and highly recommend their services. Thank you!"
"I had the pleasure in meeting the owner briefly, but I have to say looks like her clients are extremely happy with their hair results. I look forward to getting my hair done as well. I do suggest this place if you’re looking for a great Weave Specialist.."
"I loved my experience with Tamara and her assistant. Let me start by saying the salon itself is GORGEOUS! Extremely comfortable and you feel spoiled by the atmosphere alone. As a first time client, when walking in Tamara introduced herself and said she would be with me soon, her assistant approached me shortly after asking me if I needed anything to drink or wanted a snack. Her assistant gave me an amazing wash (those old school washes you don’t find with these stylists anymore!) and deep conditioning treatment. Tamara styled me to perfection. I’ve visited so many salons in LA, happy to find one I enjoy going to. Highly recommend!"
