"Love this place! Waited several visits before writing a review. Now 9 months in and my hair is beautiful and long! You do wait a long time in the salon but it is so worth it. They set the expectation ahead of time so don’t complain just enjoy the results!"
"*I went to the LA Location* I have been so disappointed in this salon's service, skill and professionalism. I went to get my hair done on 7/13. I was excited to visit what was suppose to be highly trained professionals to help me on my hair growth journey. Upon arriving at the salon it took them over an hour to just get started on my hair. my first concern started when getting my hair washed. I have thick hair but thin strands and felt like the stylist was raking through my strands rather then taking the time to comb out my hair. I brought my own conditioner since I was allergic to their conditioner. after washing the hair 3 times, the stylist put the conditioner on my hair and sat me under the dryer. after about 30 minutes under the dryer, she went to rinse out my conditioner and then continued to shampoo my hair 2 more times all while commenting "your hair is so dry". I found this to be interesting because any trained stylist knows that if your hair is dry over shampooing the hair will only exacerbate the existing issue. Furthermore, I ask them to braid my hair down versus in a beehive since my hair tends to mate in a beehive pattern to which they told me they could not oblige. My last main issue was concerning the net. The net they use on the hair tends to bleed dye and can irate my scalp due to the bleeding. I brought my own net which is almost identical to the net they use to which the weave stylist (not Tonya) and manager Brandi told me that they wouldn't be able to use my net. This was even more alarming to me since I was under the impression I was booking with trained stylist and this clearly was not the case. I emailed them the day after to try to get my hair fixed. After a week of waiting I received no reply and ultimately had to book a new service with a different stylist due to the service i received from this salon. The message says other people will be doing your hair which implied to me that another person would be washing ( typical at most salons) but that the bulk of the work would be done by the owner, Tonya. After the 7+ hours I spent at the salon, she only spent 10 minutes trimming my hair. Last thing I'll mention is I even reached out to Brandi directly to which I received an aggressive and dismissive response, suggesting that if I had a problem I should of just walked out during my appointment. Overall, this salon is not worth the money and I would suggest you go just about anywhere else since Tonya more then likely won't touch your hair for more then 10 minutes of a 7+ hour salon visit and while the other employees do seem that they are trying their best, they aren't yet skillful enough to deliver on the value, service, and style that Dreamgirls advertised. I really hope in the future this salon will consider providing tiered pricing that matches the skill level of their employees or just employing more experienced stylist so that patrons paying a premium for this service can get what they expect, advertise and paid for."
"I would like to follow up with a concerned question and a truth to tell. Why and how does the booking process work in Los Angeles with Dream Girls Work? I was trying to book a service with Dream Girls for Hair Appointment since June 26th for a weave 6-9 month growth program. I do follow you on instagram, and I also have the hair care system ( which works lovely by the way). I followed the steps contact the book assistant Brandi. She didn’t reply in days, so I sent back to the original email message andI called the number and left a message. They contacted me as quick as possible she informed me this was the Elk Grove location in Sacramento. New to California and I live in Burbank and she asked if I contact Brandi on her IG. I informed I did, she said will reach out. She reaches out to me and Brandi replies please only send one message next time and told me the price for everything. She said there will be availability Tuesday 7am-2pm. So informed her I would like a weave and the 6-9 growth program. She never replies in days and I then contact the other number asking Pearl is Brandi on vacation because it was July 10 and I had not heard from her. At 3pm , she finally responded saying I have August 1st available. I asked her saying I need to move some things around and I did I could come August 1st at 2pm. Then she said I needed to come in earlier than 2pm. I said in your message above you said 2pm and it looks like you don’t have time for me. The other assistant said she had some appointment availability July 27 in Sacramento, Ca if I could after looking at the flight info and trying to coincide it with my schedule— I couldn’t make it. So my question is how is the booking suppose to work? I know they said give 24 hours but I didn’t hear anything from Brandi in days. Pearl was amazing and she got back to quickly with appointments and offer to call the branch and everything. It would be convenient to just to stay in my area to get my hair done. So again, how is the booking process supposed to work?"
"This company uses toxic products on your hair. Do not trust them. They have deceived me I spent money on their products to be taken for a fool. They say they use naturally derived ingredients I’m assuming that’s the water part. 90% of the ingredients to 95% of them are toxic some of their ingredients include synthetic lab created dies like red 40 and yellow 20 Why would a hair care product need dies unless it’s hair dye? Also they use An ingredient that is derived from mustard gas yes mustard gas. Harmful to your health inside and out don’t put this product on your hair if you love yourself first. please do not come to the salon please do not buy their products please do not support poisoning people and the planet"
