"DO NOT USE THIS BUSINESS I read all the reviews prior to taking my boat to Rick. He prided himself on the reviews and insisted that I read them as well. I have to say, my experience with Rick was absolutely not favorable. I took my boat to him on July 2nd. For an alternator(widely available), hook up a second battery, install a GPS and a few other minor things. He would not call me on the progress. He would not answer my calls. He would not return my calls. He would not answer my texts. The only way that I found for him to return my communication was to threaten to take my business elsewhere. This was on August 3, 2022. Over a month after I dropped my boat off. He finally called and spoke very aggressively, cussing me with several colorful words and phrases. He even threatened to “kick my ass” more than once. He said, your boat is not the only one waiting to be serviced. He was, “on vacation” and obviously very intoxicated. He held my boat hostage until August 9, 2022 when I came to get it. My boat had not been touched, looked at or worked on the entire time it was in his shop. Rick over promised and under delivered. If he had told me ahead of time that there was a 1+ month waiting list, I would have taken it elsewhere. If Rick had been honest with me, all this drama could have been avoided. I took my boat to another mechanic and all work was completed in 6 days. RICK IS DISHONEST AND HAS LOST ALL RESPECT AND CREDIBILITY. DO NOT TAKE YOUR BOAT TO RICK UNLESS YOU HAVE A FEW MONTHS TO SPARE. EVEN THEN, the quality of the repairs will be sub- par."

"DO NOT GO HERE! Long story short, engine ran fine until we hit a submerged object in June, brought it to him he wanted over $3000 in advance for the lower unit then for over a month I could not contact him or he will give me the runaround and then months later he says it’s ready and told us we owed him $200 more than originally told for some gas, a second lake test, $100 more in labor and spark plugs but it had gas in it and it ran fine prior. We did not get our boat back until September 29. He is an alcoholic with liquor bottles laying around and always drunk when we talked or while I was there. Very unprofessional, does not communicate and ignore you, always drunk, will charge you hundreds more even after you pay him because he wants the money upfront and does extra unnecessary work without getting prior permission and will hold your boat until you pay every penny whatever ridiculous charges he comes up with."

"Rick and his crew was very friendly and knowledgeable about my boat.. Being a first time boat owner they where very detailed in explaining everything about my boat to me on what I need to do in maintaining it. I would highly recommend him on any repairs and upkeeps for a boat.. Once you are a customer and he knows your boat you can call him and he sometimes can fix the problem over the phone and he always picks up when you call..And being a first time boat owner they will even take you on the lake in your boat to teach basic boating skills for a small fee, very worth it. So Rick and his crew, hands down best place to go in the area for boat Maintence."
