"Calculating Minds in Oak Ridge has been such a game-changer for our second grade daughter. Before finding Calculating Minds we had tried a big franchise tutoring service but were unsatisfied with our daughter’s lack of progress. Calculating Minds is much different. A few things we love about Calculating Minds: 1) We love the way they use objects and the surroundings in their teachings. Math is taught with many visuals and that approach seems to be a big help for our child; 2) The teacher to student ratio is better here than other places. Due to the ratio, the tutor gets to know your child very well; therefore, they know better how to get the student to understand and absorb the material; 3) They genuinely care about our child’s success and experience. The people here are very invested in the relationship with the student and go above and beyond to work with your family and the child to make the experience as enjoyable and successful as they can make it. Lastly, a few more things we love is the value for the money we are spending. We believe their pricing is very reasonable compared to what we have paid elsewhere and what Calculating Minds delivers. And we love the extra touches they do like having a tokens and prize redemption program, end each lesson with fresh baked cookies, send out monthly newsletters, and have a monthly estimating game with a prize for each location’s winner.
