Reviews of Blossom Center for Childhood Excellence
"I've come back to update my review. I've spoken with their new director and I've seen some positive changes over the last few weeks. It was easy to get a meeting with the director, and I felt she listened and wanted to help find a solution to the issues I was having. While I'm still hesitant to give them a glowing review I have always felt like my child is safe and well cared for at Blossom. Some of the staff is wonderful and my child and I love them. When my child was in the 3 year old room, I would have rated them 5 stars most days. However, the long changeover in directors has left me with more concerns, and I only hope that finally having a new person in place will continue to improve things."
"I had a great experience with the staff and teachers but unfortunately the director, Ashley Dunn, appears to struggle appreciating the importance of listening to a parent’s concern regarding safety. There was a strange unknown man in the building in a room lurking in a corner staring creepily at myself and the children. I asked the teacher about who he was and what he was doing which she seemed a bit confused by it as well. When I raised my concern or asked about this situation with director I was flabbergasted with her reaction. She became immediately defensive and explained he was “visiting his kids from out of state” and went into how “everyone is allowed to visit” their kids class and admonished me for calling him creepy (which I had no idea who this guy was). I told her I was still uncomfortable and I’d like to set up a time to chat in person. She responded she didn’t see the need to and explained that “it seems like I’ve had a lot of problems with your kid’s safety since you’ve been here”. I again responded that asking questions about safety issues isn’t a personal challenge to her and asked to meet in person as it seems she was having some personal reaction that was frankly bizarre. She then responded that “this back and forth seems like this isn’t a good fit” and then gave us notice to leave the daycare. I was shocked, confused, and angry. I am a child mental health therapist and worked in schools and kids my whole career and literally the director handled this situation in probably the worst way possible and literally kicked us out due to inquiring about a strange unknown man in the building. *** When childcare professionals fail to even listen to a parent’s concern, but then even worst retaliate against them for asking, it leads to the fundamental breakdown of the integrity of a childcare center. And ultimately parents end up making complaints such as this and it ultimately raises concerns about the overall safety of a facility."
"These people are very RUDE and don't care about anything my child worked their and found out there is errible things that don't look like they are being reported"
"Worst experience of my life. Highly insulted. My child spent one day there and at the end of the day I was recommended through a letter that I shed take my child to the Emory Valley Center. This place if full of nothing but snot nosed uppities that only want perfect children. If your child is an IEP student or a child with any kind of special needs i.e. ADHD, autism, ADD I would not take them there. They are not qualified to take care of children with special educational needs."
"I brought my 6 year old daughter to Blossom center during her summer break from school. She had a great summer; and I really appreciated the flexible schedule. I'm pretty sure she will be returning this summer."
