"I waited one hour and 19 minutes to get my haircut and he was just talking to somebody for 45 minutes or something like that. He was also cutting a bald persons “hair” who literally does not have any so there wasn’t anything to cut but he did cut whatever there was for half an hour. He said he was finished though he was talking for so long. He could’ve just stopped the talking for a second and said OK it’s your turn. I’m gonna cut your hair now, but no he just says it right when we leave. I’m not going there. I am starting school in 3 days and I haven’t got a cut in 6 months. What a joke."

"Wow, oh man! I walked into this shabby looking place in hope that it will be a non-fuss quick beard trim. This is how it went. I walked into a cluttered place that looked like it hasn't been cleaned in a good while. But never mind, i thought, at least they won't charge me $35/$40 that I usually pay in Castro. The barber was just finishing up with a client, I only waited about 5 min, the minute the other client left, he invited me to sit in the chair. He hadn't cleaned it, i saw a lot of hair on the chair as I was sitting down, but again, i though oh well, at least they will be reasonably priced, whatever. Then we chatted a little bit, he was nice, he's been in business since 1964 and at this location since 1975, very pleasant gentlemen. Then he took over 30min to cut my beard that I can do in less than 10 and elsewhere they take about 15-20. When he was finally finished, he didn't bother to wipe my face that was now covered in hair, he slightly brushed my neck, ignoring the rest of my body. Worth mentioning that the hygiene of the tools he used was a little concerning as well, just by looking at this generally grimy shop. Then as I am standing up, I ask how much do I owe him, and he says fifty-one, which i though first i misheard, i'm like did you say FIFTY? Stone cold, he says 'Yes, fifty-one'! I gave him the exact cash and left without looking back. Went straight home to wash my face and as I was looking in the mirror, there were some pieces on my beard that were still longer than the rest, so I had to finish it myself. This was the most outrageous barber experience i've ever received. I wouldn't even bat an eye-lid if it cost $20 coz judging by the look of the shop, the mess and the inefficiency of the barber that's what you'd expect to pay. Not $51 for beard trim that takes forever, you leave full of hair and you actually have to finish yourself at home yourself. Good luck to this man. How he stayed in business for 60 years is beyond me. Next time, I walk in anywhere, I know to ask for the price upfront and not assume anything."

"More than I'd like to have spent on a haircut ($42 for a cut) but one of the nicest ones I've ever had. The barber is also very charismatic, making you feel comfortable and finishing in a reasonable amount of time. Works well to make sure you have the cut you want."
