"I hate to write a negative review but this place is lacking basic professional skills. I went for a gel removal and they carved out my nail too much that the nail got too thin and they are hurting even with slight pressure, to the extent that it is an everyday pain. It’s not my first time getting my gels removed and my nails were in healthy condition. The fact that it’s only one side carved out significantly consistently & the marks on nails makes it clear that it’s the carving procedure."

"This was by far the worse nail salon I’ve ever been too . I went in the other day and for one they don’t do regular acrylic which they think is better and it’s a waste of money . I got my nails done 4 days ago and my whole left hand nails popped off already . She said the dip last 3 weeks and it lasted 3 days .the job is done very sloppy . It’s bumpy . I was trying so hard to trust the process and failed on top of how they charge an extra 10$ for everything smh . I see why it was empty . This looks like a child did my nails or someone who just started doing nails .never will I go back there worse place in sf hands down! Go to pink passion nails or beauty 4 you ! Thank me later"

"There is truly no better nail salon than Paua! Not only do they do the best manicures in SF, but they are the warmest, most welcoming staff that always make you feel at home in their salon. They do the BEST dip manicures, I wouldn’t trust anyone else to do them. Paua is a large, clean, bright salon with plenty of space for pedicures and manicures and other services. I love coming with friends, as they always have a rom com playing and offer you refreshments. Thank you Tweetie, Mai and the entire team at Paua. I refuse to go anywhere else!"

"I got the Paua Manicure (regular polish) The experience was nice, very fast and polite. They have movies, which I think it's great to pass the time. From the comments, I think gel polish application must be much better. I know regular polish doesn't last as long, but by the next day it had already chipped. The application was uneven also (you can see my thumb in the picture). Again, I think gel polish and other services must be good, but I wouldn't go back for regular polish. Response to comment: I had already taken off my polish, but thanks for reaching out to me."

"My girlfriend wanted me to post this review on her behalf: I went here to get my nails done while I was visiting San Francisco. The staff was polite and professional, and I love my nails! Sometimes dip powder can get clumpy and thick looking, so I was scared to get the dip powder full set at first, but my nails turned out great! I also love the color periwinkle, and they had the exact shade I was looking for.(: I highly recommend stopping by for a visit if you are in the area!"
