"Today I took my 8 year old granddaughter to have a spacer placed and a filling at this office. We were referred by Loma Linda Pediatrics, they told us Dr Lin was a residence from their network and has a practice in Hemet, CA. This was our second visit there and Christina Lin was rough with applying the spacer and my granddaughter was moaning in pain. She said nothing to comfort her and moved swiftly with giving her the numbing shots, never offering any words of comfort. The room was tense, my granddaughter was crying and telling her it was hurting. She totally ignored her and moved on to the next child while we waited for the numbing to take place. She went to the room next door and the child there was crying uncontrollably and you could hear the hurt in his cry. When she came back to our room I had calmed my granddaughter down and told her to be brave. Dr. Lin immediately grabbed her drill, saying open wide and started drilling and maneuvering roughly in her mouth. My granddaughter got very tense and raises her hand to signal she feels pain will making noises of discomfort. The inconsiderate, non caring Christina Lin, who calls herself a pediatric dentist ignored all signs of distress. I stopped her and voiced my concerns and reminded her my granddaughter had her hand raised. She stated, she doesn’t feel anything and insisted on continuing. I saw tears rolling down the side of my granddaughters face and I demand she STOP immediately! Her words to me were......you are just nervous grandma, and she’s fine! I told her that I didn’t want to proceed with the treatment and would be leaving. I also let her know how unprofessional she was and how she should not be preforming any type of dentistry on no child!!!!!!! She was in a rush, she was rude, she displayed a noncaring attitude and appeared to not want to be there. She had zero people skills nor patients to be doing ANYTHING with children. She was rude to her assistant and I witnessed her talking down to a staff member. I removed the dental bib, the gas mask, and gauze from my granddaughters mouth, picked her up and we left. On my way out, she had the nerve to tell me I needed to sign a document stating I was leaving without the completion of treatment. I told her I wasn’t signing anything but she would be hearing from me! I grabbed my crying granddaughter and we went to Dr, Larrandos office on Santa Fe, in Hemet, CA. He had previously pulled one of my granddaughters teeth in an emergency visit so he had xrays there and was familiar with her. He was extremely busy but after hearing our situation he worked us in. While examining my granddaughters tooth and determining if she needed to be numbed again, he realized immediately that the places she numbed where not effective for the type of drilling needed for the tooth she was working on. He stated he was almost certain she felt pain based on the areas of injection. I was LIVID!!!!!....... he promised my granddaughter he would be gentle, giving her the shot and filling the tooth. She was relaxed and felt absolutely nothing!!!!!! The experience was like night and day, Dr. Lerrando turned this day around for us. Christina Lin will be hearing from me, so will Loma Linda Pediatrics, their Dentistry Board, and whoever else I need to voice my complaint. I’m sure this is not an isolated situation based on how sloppily that office is ran and how miserable the staff looks. I understand the majority of her clients are low income and have a medi-cal type dental coverage and this may very well be the reason for her treating her patients this way. It’s unacceptable and should not be tolerated no matter the social economically background. These are children and should be treated with dignity and respect! She’s a horrible dentist! Please be AWARE and if you can afford to take your child somewhere else I strongly recommend you do so!!!!!!!! Save your babies the pain, agony and stress. Find another dentist who cares about their young patients because it’s clear she DON’T!!!!!"
