"Such a wonderful experience with great customer service & hospitality! I was served tea, coffee, & water while I waited for my hair to process. The hairdressers were courteous, professional & gentle. To top it off the head massage during my shampoo was amazing! I walked out with beautiful hair, I will definitely be returning ☺️"
"Same experience as Jill. My appointment was cancelled. Then rescheduled. Then I waited 25 mins. I wanted Palermo Black- which I have done before with Sarah at this location. The colorist this time mixed a 20% and a 10% keeps saying “purple”. I started getting worried. This color is supposed to be black with aubergine undertones, not purple or eggplant at all. It s a very dark brown almost black. I ve done it before so I know. Not sure what he mixed yesterday but I have purple hair. Terrible. He kept saying to come back so they can fix it. I won’t be back. I had asked to be scheduled with Sara -who did a very good job. But there was no way to have her again. If a customer is happy with a colorist- why not trying to keep the customer happy and give her the same person? I felt like a number here. Not a customer."
"I arrived on time, early to be exact. I was told they would call me when they were ready for me, 15 minutes and asked if that were ok. I didn't have a choice. They called me 30 minutes later. I take time out of my day, drive 30 minutes to get there and this salon continues to disappoint me. To make matters worse, I spoke to my colorist twice about what I was looking for in highlights. We discussed getting the red tone out and specifically just wanted to have lighter brown highlights. Low and behold, my hair has copper highlights. He suggested I come back, and he will apply a toner at no charge. I am not happy with this, and my previous experience of my appointment being cancelled via a text message on a Sunday, then another text message saying it was back on. There is no personal touch that you would expect from a good salon experience."
"I purchased root coloring and overall hair gloss. The colorist was friendly. The shampoo person was rough- she had long fingernails and it felt like she was scraping my scalp and hair. It literally hurt. During the rinsing, I asked if there was any dye on my ears and she said no.... I just couldn't shake the feeling that there was still dye on me, but she assured me that the water was running clear. 6 hours later, after I ran errands and came home, I scratched my left ear (it was itching) and my index finger was covered in hair dye. There was a bunch of dye in my left ear! I started washing out my ear and then my sister told me to take a photo-- here is my ear w/ half the dye washed out already. After I washed it out, I noticed that my right forehead had hair dye stains on it too. It was easier to remove since that barrier cream had been applied to my forehead, but I wish I had known to remove it right away instead of 6 hours later. The lighting in the shop hadn't been good enough to see it earlier. I wish I had just dyed my hair at home, as I would have done a much better job of not getting hair dye in my ear or on my forehead and anyway if that had happened, I'd have cleaned my skin thoroughly and immediately. I went to the color bar because I thought they would do a better job than I could self-color, but this experience was not good. I had a better experience last time I went to another Madison Reed location."
