"The unfiltered, unedited pictures tell the story. Before I met Destiny Aguilar, I had long thick unprocessed virgin black hair down to my waist (pic taken 02/22). My hair was extremely healthy because I don't use straight irons or wands, highlights/color, etc. Before I made the appointment, I sent Destiny the two pics of what I wanted: silver white highlights woven into my naturally black hair, to blend in with the new white hairs that are starting to grow. The final 3 pics show what I ended up with (03/11) after 2 Sessions & paying almost $890: The front and the back of my head are literally two different color tones. The front of my hair now has weird blue gray streaks. The back is ash gold brown. It looks NOTHING like what I asked for. When I asked her when exactly this was going to look like what I asked for, i.e., silver white highlights, she started hemming and hawing. My hair was too thick, too strong, etc. If she could not do this hair color, she should have told me after the 1st appointment (02/24). Instead, she pushed me to come back because it was going to be a "process." Last night, she basically admitted that she can't do anything to fix it. She said she could not tone it or bleach it further and that was it. She didn't offer to attempt to fix it, despite the fact that it looks nothing like the pictures that I sent to her. Destiny is young and friendly but, she is not an "expert." Professionalism means that you should admit when a job is beyond your experience or skill level. The look I requested was clearly beyond her experience/skill level. If you screw up, attempt to rectify your error, whether that means refunding the money or fixing it, if you can. She has already admitted that she cannot fix it and she refuses to refund even 1/2 of the money. She ruined my hair. My hair is not just crispy dry but you can see the short hairs sticking up where the hair has broken off; areas of my scalp are red and irritated. I had silky straight hair and the texture is now frizzy because Destiny Aguilar over-processed it so badly. Another hair colorist told me it would be more than a month before she could reasonably even try to tone it because the hair is so damaged. If you have a simple, basic request, Destiny can probably handle it. Ex: ash blonde seems like something she is comfortable with. However, I recommend you confirm the cost and exactly what is expected before or you are quite likely to find like me, the price is much more expensive than the visit prior, even if you have much less hair to color (she cut my hair from waist to above the nipple line). If you send her $50 to reserve your appointment, don't forget to get that money credited or you might fine, like me, she **forgot** to credit it, even when I reminded her. Most importantly: ask her what she will do if she cannot give you the look she promised; ask her if she will refund the money if she ruins your hair. Buyer beware. Mistakes happen. But Destiny will block you rather than take responsibility for what she did. Entrusting my hair to her was a HUGE mistake. She literally ruined my hair, refused to fix it or give me even a partial refund so I can get it fixed by someone who knows what they are doing. Look at Pic #5. You want that to happen to your hair? After I posted this review, she started trying to get people to leave her positive reviews (w/o pics). But pictures don't lie. Destiny does not and cannot deny that this is her work. She does not and cannot deny that she refused to refund my money or that she blocked me. I have now spent $$$ more, buying products to try to repair my hair so I can have someone competent fix the mess Destiny Aguilar left. Ladies, we all know how long it takes to grow long healthy hair. Look at the pictures. Look what happened to me. Do you really want to risk your hair with someone who will block you when you ask them to take responsibility for their actions? It will take many years to get my hair back to some kind of decent shape. It’s so, so not worth it."
