"Best price and saves us $700 and fast service! I was done in 5mns!"
"All contractor's bonds went up. These guys sent me different bills with different amounts, I paid what was asked, and they demanded more. My contractor's license ended up being suspended for the first time in 22 years."
"Lolita is retiring! Noooooo! I've received help for my C-6 and then my general B, not to mention they helped with my bonds. Big fan! You guys are great!"
"I strongly recommend not using California Contractors Insurance Services. In order to solve a sequencing problem with the California state licensing board, I needed a short-term bond to remain compliant with the agency. When shopping for a short-term bond, the California Contractors Insurance Services representative recommended that I purchase a long-term bond; then, when the bond was no longer required, the agent explained that I should cancel the bond to receive a pro-rated refund. I was comfortable with his plan and purchased the bond. As advised, when the bond was no longer required, I cancelled the bond; however, California Contractors Insurance Services now wanted to charge fees that exceeded the pro-rated refund, basically consuming the payment. As a former Naval officer, aviator, and fighter weapons instructor I understand the importance of responsibility and credibility; California Contractors Insurance Services exhibits none of these traits. A California Contractors Insurance Services representative recommended this process for my situation; and, he knowingly sold me the bond while detailing a pro-rated refund process. The California Contractors Insurance Services manager was unhelpful. I recommended that she contact her salesman and we could discuss the problem. She declined. Fortunately, this was a small financial transaction; my primary motive was to move this process forward as expected and not be pushed around by this company. In short, I do not recommend using California Contractors Insurance Services. I tried to encourage them to take responsibility, they failed. If my company were to ever have a problem, California Contractors Insurance Services would be the last company that I would want by my side."
"March 02, 2021 I received a discounted rate offer in my snail mail. I responded by sending my payment over the Internet before the deadline date and received an email receipt. A couple of days later I received a notice in my email saying my card was declined, and I should call them immediately to resolve the matter. I called and was told there isn't anyone named "ALEX." I was informed Alex is the name of the robot. I was put on hold and conveniently diconnected. I called back and spoke with a woman who said her name was "KAREN." Without offering any proof that my payment was declined, I was informed of the following: I would need to re submit the payment or use a different card. I explained there was more than enough money in the account to cover the cost of the renewal. I told her I used the card myself twice just the day before and it went through fine, furthermore, that card is tied to an overdraft protection account, so it is impossible for the payment to fail. She didn't have much of an excuse after that, except to say it was likely stopped at my bank because it was an unfamiliar vendor. The problem with that excuse is that my bank always calls me if that is the case, to verify if the purchase was made by me. That didn't happen. My conclusion? As we used to say back in Brooklyn, if it smells like BS, don't step in it!! So I told her because this scenario smelled fishy to me I would be renewing with my current bond company "Economy Bonds." What appeared to me, they were devising a ruse not to honor their own discount. Plain and simple, this action would have push the transaction beyond the deadline date, which would in turn allow them to claim it was not submitted within the deadline--claiming it was not their fault, then up the renewal to maximum dollar amount after I would have resubmitted the credit card payment. Based on my experience I would not use this company. Nice try! Buyer beware."
