"Overall my experience with Baystar was ok. In the beginning I requested to place my payments on automatic payments. The agent assisting me took my card information down, however no automatic payment was taken and my policy was then cancelled in which I then had to not only pay for the following month, but the reinstatement fees. Upon this discovery, I called again and went through the same process about 4 times before an agent informed me that they do not accept card details for automatic payments but only account and routing numbers. For those months I had to once again not only pay for my policy, but also the reinstat even despite this being not my fault and an error on Baystar’s end, whether that be the lack of knowledge from their representatives or a system error, they never offered to compensate me even when I asked and expressed me obvious disappointment! Maria was a great help throughout the experience and is great in her expertise, in which she helped solve the issue regarding my automatic payments. However my last straw was when I called to file a claim for a hit and run. My claim adjuster was Christina Sanchez and she was extremely unprofessional, condescending and unavailable. Upon our recorded call, she continued to express to me that based on her ‘expertise’ and ‘seniority,’ I was at fault for the the accident and that I essentially need to fess up or they will take it to the DA. Shocked is an understatement as I have been paying for years for full coverage just in case a situation like this took place and was met with absolute disrespect. Despite her recorded comments, I proceeded with the process and she informed me it will take 10-14 business days for the forensic team to make their decision. I filed my claim on September 23rd, she left a voicemail for me on November 7th regarding forensics, and since then she has not answered any calls or returns any of my voicemails in which it is now the first week of December. Even upon asking for a new claim adjuster, I was once again met with silence. Other than Maria, terrible service and very disappointed in my experience and I hope this issue can be resolved."

"Very helpful insurance agency. I called them because of my DUI and they helped me get a competitive rate with an insurance company. They explained to me that they are not actually an insurance company, but our brokers who help find an insurance company. I would highly recommend them since they are very knowledgeable. The reviews I see here are based on experiences with the actual insurance companies, not the broker."

"Stay away from this insurance!!! They are rude don’t know what they are doing always changing ur rates to higher not lower ! Been with them for years always charging me a late fee when I set up auto payments never send me proof of insurance! Accident happen I had to call like 10 different numbers and never got settled fixed or paid I don’t know what took me so long to get a different insurance. I’m so over them just be careful with this company."

"My husband got Mercury insurance through them a few years ago. He called in October to cancel it when I got a new car and we decided to bundle. They never cancelled the plan and we continued to get charged. When my husband called again they said no body wrote any notes about a call and he offered to come show them his phone record because now we were charged over $300 on something we had cancelled. They refused to even acknowledge a mistake could have been made. If zero stars was an option they should have it."
