Total Health Dental Care - Specialty Center

"My husband and I are new to Total Health Dental Care. We have so far visited the Piedmont office and Rotunda Specialty Center. The dentists and the staff in both offices are very nice and accommodating! However, I am disappointed that they are not transparent and accurate about their procedure charges. My husband was told by their surgeon that he may need an implant and we wanted to know what is the charge for each segment in a complete implant procedure. The staff don't have the information which is surprising. The front desk lady told me she had to transfer me to their billing office which has no phone number and there is not a specific person I can talk to either. Very strange! No one from billing got back to me until I wrote a message online to ask my question. I was then given an email address for billing. I waited for another 3 days before I received a message with one sentence without the name of the sender. The fact they are not knowledgeable about something very basic and neither are they transparent about their charges regarding a common procedure like implant causes me serious concerns. I have done implants in the past and the dentists' offices were all professional and straight forward about their fees under each dental code so I and other patients had a clear idea regarding the out-of-pocket expenses before we started the procedure. I don't feel comfortable about this facility's lack of knowledge and secrecy on their service fees. It is unprofessional to say the least."

"MEMBERSHIP IS A SCAM! Very weird for a dentist office to give a membership that gives 50% off of services up to $1200 off after paying $600. Why wouldn’t they charge less to begin with? To me it looks like they’re overcharging patients to begin with. Something fishy is going on if they’re offering $600 off but in a convoluted way. Pay $600, get $1200 off, why not just get $600 off? I do not trust them."

"Please Read: I started going to Total Health Dental 2.5 years ago for cleanings. They convinced me to do Invisalign, because it was minor cosmetic changes that would only take 9 months. After 9 months, they kept trying to convince me I was done, but my back molars were not touching, so I had to ask for more refinements to ensure I could chew my food. I was swallowing noodles and boba tapioca whole because I could not grind my food. It took over 2 years to finish Invisalign! I saw 4 different orthodontists at Total Health Dental within those 2 years, and they all told me different things: how long I should keep the retainers in, how much longer my treatment would be, etc. When they finally removed the anchors, I told them to be careful with a composite front tooth, but they ignored me, removed half my tooth, and refused to pay for an upper replacement retainer since I then needed to get the composite crown replaced due to their screw up. I think there must be reasons why they have so much employee turnover. Run away!!"

"I absolutely recommend this place. They are friendly and excellent at explaining everything clearly and thoroughly. I had an extraction and was in pain. Dr. Connors extracted my tooth and l can not believe how fast and painless the whole procedure was. This man is a pro! The dental assistant had mentioned Dr. Connors was quick and she was right. A few months back l was forced to go to a dentist (not this office) and l was left never wanting to step foot in a dental office. l will be coming here for every dental need."
