"I just renewed my home warranty with Home Guard Home Warranty It was such an easy process and Angela who helped me with that renewal and Ashley who helped me recently with a claim were super nice but very professional. I would also like to say I recently had a claim of which I paid the deductible of 85.00 but if I had to pay out of pocket the parts alone were 385.00 and who knows what the electrician house call and labor would of been. We got everything done in short order and it was a pleasure speaking with her. She called me back shortly after we hung up the first time with clarification to the renewal of one of my policies. "So far this has been a terrible experience. I have the "Total Protection Plan" through HomeGuard HomeWarranty. I contacted them yesterday when my water heater went out. I've now come to learn that calling them is a joke, as you end up sitting on hold for 10-15 minutes only to then be rerouted to their "overflow call center" to leave a message with some third party who promises that you'll get a call back soon. I'm guessing that emailing them or contacting them through their online form is no better. 2 hours later, I received a call from a representative who asked me to send a copy of my home inspection (which I did immediately), and told me that I would be receiving a call from a vendor within 24 hours. It's now been over 24 hours and I haven't heard a peep. I'm also still waiting to receive a call back from HomeGuard after leaving another message with their "overflow call center" this morning. Meanwhile, my family is left with nothing but cold water while we wait without any indication on how soon our water heater might be looked at (let alone fixed). The most frustrating part is that I could have had a water heater company out here to fix the water heater on the same day it went out. Instead, we're forced to sit around indefinitely until we're eventually contacted by a HomeGuard water heater repair company. I don't know why we paid so much for this warranty when it's proving to be useless (and detrimental) so far. I'll update this review if we end up receiving better service in the end (whenever that might be)."

"I've been with this home warranty company since 2010. And haven't had too many issues until now. With this instance the claims department wasn't sympathetic to my situation of not having hot water for 4 days and the plumbing company that they dispatched rescheduling me from a Friday appointment to a Monday. The original appointment was for Saturday, but they were able to move me to Friday with a cancelation. If they are able to find a decent plumber to respond this week I'll change this review. Third times the charm hopefully with getting my hot water heater repaired. Canceled on the first vendor because they did so to me twice. Got a second vendor that honored the appointment, but didn't work on power vented hot water heaters. Now waiting to take another day off from work to see if the third vendor gets anywhere. The last Home Guard members that I spoke with were actually understanding. But it is ridiculous to have to go through these lengths to receive service. They should cover my deductible at least for this headache. And that would be the smallest gesture."

"As a first time, homeowner home guard warranty was so secure to have, and I loved having them the duration of owning my home! They were partnered with really great companies in my area, and they always answered my calls and appropriately delegated different tasks. Every year I paid it was totally worth it. They never really argued with whatever I needed. Repaired in my home. they were very communicative with the technicians who also came to my home. It was 100% worth having warranty.!!!"
