"I went to Hangers in Oakridge and got fitted for my new braces . Some people might think it's odd for an older woman to have printed leg braces but, to me the picture reminds me of the debilitating disease- peripheral neuropathy that I have and how I plan to keep fighting to not let CMT defeat me. Thank you so much"
"I had used Hangar for years as a supplier for Diabetic shoes, thinking that there were no other suppliers locally, or even in the Knoxville area! (Choice Orthotics at 314 Erin Drive in Knoxville, TN is excellent) I was always made to feel like I was a burden to the Office staff at Hangar, leaving them paperwork and not hearing back for months, only to find out that they expected things from the Doctor that they had not asked the doctor for, and with the delays, I often had to make several doctors visits to satisfy the office personnel at Hangar to the point they would submit a request to the insurance and finally order the shoes! This process has usually taken 3 to 5 months and as long as 11 months from the time I saw my Doctor for the foot evaluation and Diabetic Shoes prescription, until the time the shoes Were Delivered! Last year was the final straw! After nearly 6 months of back and forth with the office personnel requiring information from the doctor with no communication as to what they required the Doctor to do exactly, I finally was fitted and the shoes were ordered, yet the day before I was to pick them up, I got a call from the insurance company to clarify some information, and learned that the office personnel at Hangar had changed the coding that the doctor had entered, causing the rejection of the claim. I was able to straighten out the misinformation and get the final approval, and had the foresight to get the name and contact information of the insurance representative, so the next day, when I went to my appointment to pick up my shoes, I was bluntly told that the insurance company rejected the claim an I would not be getting the shoes and would have to wait for the insurance approval. I called the insurance representative on my cellphone, talked to her and let her tell the Hangar Office dingbat that the claim was approved and they should not have changed the coding the doctor had entered! After getting my shoes, I received a satisfaction survey call from Hangar ( a first for that) and I relayed the total Sh*t show that I have had to deal with every year to get my Diabetic Shoes! The next day, the Hangar Office Dingbat called, crying and complaining that I had told on her, to which I replied that I had only told the truth and it was long overdue being told! This year, I went to Choice Orthotics, and less than 2 days from my Doctors visit, was fitted for new shoes, and within 2 weeks, the insurance claim was approved and I received my shoes! Is there any way to give Hangar less than a one star rating? How about useless, cruel, narcissistic and hateful!?"
"I would recommend to come to this office if needed at all. The staff here are friendly and great. They are extremely fast my actual total time in the office was 15 minutes then had my knee brace and was out the door. I will forever use them for my family and will send my friends as well."
"The GPS will not get you there! It's located at the back end of the Ridge Way Shopping center off of Bus Terminal Rd. You can also drive through the parking lot to get to it from the turnpike. Behind the buildings you see from the turnpike, is another row of shops. They are located back there. The staff is friendly and helpful. They have helped my mom get medical equipment to make her life easier and more comfortable."
"The place was a little hard to find, but my daughter got wonderful care and the best set of AFO's she has ever gotten in her 21 yrs. She is very small and hard to fit, but they did a great job working with her needs and making sure she got just what she needed... and wanted."
